A principle of economy predicts the functional architecture of grid cells
Grid cells in the brain respond when an animal occupies a periodic lattice of ‘grid fields’ during navigation. Grids are organized in modules with different periodicity.

Modeling Pedestrian Dynamics on Triangular Grids
AbstractWe study the modeling of pedestrian dynamics on triangular grids. We consider the cases both with and without orientation. The geometry of a path with orientation may be represented by a special triangular grid with a continuously reducing number of grid cells in the inner side.

Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Vortex Lattice Melting in 2D Superconducting Networks and Films
We carry out MC studies of 2D superconducting networks, in an applied magnetic field, for square and honeycomb geometries. We consider both dilute systems (f=1/q) and systems near full frustration (f=1/2-1/q).

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.

Exceptional times for percolation under exclusion dynamics
We analyse in this paper a conservative analogue of the celebrated model of dynamical percolation introduced by H\"aggstr\"om, Peres and Steif in [HPS97]. It is simply defined as follows: start with an initial percolation configuration $\omega(t=0)$. Let

Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.
