Triangulations for the cube

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1976
In this note we consider the problem of determining a minimal triangulation of I”, the n-dimensional cube. While the problem seems intrinsically interesting, our purpose in presenting it is motivated by the interest evinced in connection with the simplicial approximation of fixed points of continuous mappings [5, 71.

Intensified Manufactured Non‐Belonging: Working Holiday Makers in Australia During the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nations manufacture non‐belonging of temporary migrants through policy frameworks that produce exclusion. This precarity maximises the economic benefit of temporary migrant labour by minimising their political, social and legal rights. In this paper, we examine how non‐belonging targeting Working Holiday Makers (WHMs) is manufactured in ...

Thermodynamic-diagram analysis of Fe-Ni-C-O system

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2022
The paper presents the results of calculation of thermodynamic parameters of compounds formed between the system components. Complete thermodynamic-diagram analysis of the Fe-Ni-C-O system has been carried out taking into consideration the congruent ...

A Review of Five Existing Hornet-Tracking Methods

open access: yesInsects
Hornet is a general term for insects of the genus Vespa (Hymenoptera: Vespidae). Hornets are predatory insects distributed worldwide. They often appear at apiaries in groups to prey on honey bees, and cause incalculable losses in the honey bee industry ...

Statistical shape modeling of the human inner ear through micro‐computed tomography imaging

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
In this study, 54 cadaveric temporal bone specimens underwent high‐resolution micro‐CT imaging. Images were semi‐automatically segmented and converted to 3D surface mesh models for morphological measurement and analysis. Statistical shape models were created for the inner ear, cochlea, and vestibular system, as well as for sex‐ and side‐based subgroups.

Optimizing Strategies for Non‐Invasive Prospection of Settlements in the Intertidal Zone: A Case Study From the Centre of the Drowned Medieval Village of Tolsende (Scheldt Estuary, the Netherlands)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Medieval and early modern drowned villages in the intertidal zone of the Scheldt estuary (the Netherlands) constitute intriguing yet largely understudied components of north‐western Europe's underwater cultural heritage. Despite their high archaeological potential as time capsules of past settlement landscapes, research has remained limited ...

Excerpt from Triangulations: Narrative Strategies for Navigating Latino Identity

open access: yesJournal of Transnational American Studies, 2011
Just as mariners use triangulation, mapping an imaginary triangle between two known positions and an unknown location, so, David J. Vázquez contends, Latino authors in late twentieth-century America employ the coordinates of familiar ideas of self to ...

Production of 3D printed biomodels of the canine brain for veterinary neuroanatomy teaching

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Teaching neuroanatomy presents multiple challenges to both students and teachers, as it is a subject with highly dense content that commonly causes the development of aversion by students, a phenomenon referred to as “neurophobia,” which has been documented in human and veterinary medicine students.
