Doença de Chagas no Brasil Chagas disease in Brazil

Estudo comparado do ciclo evolutivo de triatomíneos a duas temperaturas Comparison of life cycles of triatominae according to changes in temperature

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1989
We studied the life cicle of several triatominae species: Dipetalogaster maximus (Uhler, 1894); Panstrongylus herreri Wygodzinsky, 1948; Panstrongylus megistus (Burmeister, 1835); Rhodnius ecuadoriensis Lent & Leon, 1958; Rhodnius nasutus Stal, 1859 ...

Cutaneous allergic reactions to Triatoma infestans after xenodiagnosis Reações cutâneas alérgicas ao Triatoma infestans após Xenodiagnóstico

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1980
We determined the frequency of cutaneous allergic reactions to bites of Triatoma infestans during xenodiagnosis in a rural community where Panstrongylus megistrus is the only domestic vector of Trypanosoma cruzi.

Estudo sobre a utilização de Rhodnius neglectus para xenodiagnósticos realizados em marsupiais (Didelphis) The utilization of Rhodnius neglectus in xenodiagnosis: a study performed on opossums

Chromosomal location of heterochromatin and 45S rDNA sites in four South American triatomines (Heteroptera: Reduviidae)

open access: yesComparative Cytogenetics, 2010
The Triatominae are distributed in Brazilian regions and are the vector of Chagas disease. This group is also characterized by lower karyotype variability, occurrence of holokinetic chromosomes and inverted meiosis of the sex chromosomes.

[Residual house infestation by Triatoma infestans].

open access: yesRevista de saude publica, 1971
The Gómez-Núñez method was used for testing houses considered free of the Triatoma infestans infestation at the routine inspection made before the selective insecticide spraying (BHC). The test was made in the Bairro da Ilha area, County of Salto de Pirapora, São Paulo State, Brazil, and includes fifteen human houses and six domestic animals dwellings.

Triatoma melanosoma, novo status para Triatoma infestans melanosoma Martinez, Olmedo & Carcavallo, 1987 (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) Triatoma melanosoma, new status for Triatoma infestans melanosoma Martinez, Olmedo & Carcavallo, 1987 (Hemiptera: Reduviidae)

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1994
Triatoma infestans melanosoma was described in 1987 by Martinez, Olmedo & Carcavallo. In the present work the authors make a redescription, adding new characters, and based on biological and morphological aspects raise up to the level of species and ...

Insights from tissue-specific transcriptome sequencing analysis of Triatoma infestans

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz
Triatoma infestans is an insect of subfamily Triatominae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) and an important vector of Trypanosoma cruzi, the etiologic agent of human Chagas disease. In this work we reported a transcriptome assembly and annotation of T.

Biology, diversity and strategies for the monitoring and control of triatomines - Chagas disease vectors

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2009
Despite the relevant achievements in the control of the main Chagas disease vectors Triatoma infestans and Rhodnius prolixus, several factors still promote the risk of infection. The disease is a real threat to the poor rural regions of several countries

[Population interactions between Triatoma infestans and Triatoma sordida].

open access: yesRevista de saude publica, 1995
Populations of T. infestans and T. sordida were studied between September 1988 and April 1989 with a view to discovering if any kind of interaction took place between them while they lives together in the same experimental unit and exploited the same food resource (chicken). The initial age structure for each species was: 27 N1, 7 N2, 11 N3, 3 N4, 8 N5,
