Corrosion and tribocorrosion resistance of MAO-based composite coating on AZ31 magnesium alloy
In this paper, a multi-functional composite coating with low friction coefficient, high wear resistance and excellent tribocorrosion resistance is fabricated on AZ31 Mg alloys by micro-arc oxidation and spray-coating methods.

Tribocorrosion – Insight into Material Degradation in Specific Environments [PDF]
Tribocorrosion is an irreversible surface degradation mechanism of a metallic and/or non-metallic material as a result of its physicochemical and mechanical interactions during relative motion (friction, sliding, impact, abrasion, erosion) in corrosive ...

Bio-tribocorrosion mechanisms in orthopaedic devices : mapping the micro-abrasion-corrosion behaviour of a simulated CoCrMo hip replacement in calf serum solution [PDF]
Load bearing implant prostheses such as orthopaedic hip and knee implants may be considered as tribocorrosion systems since the wear processes are a result of combined mechanical and chemical mechanisms.

Degradation behavior of Ti-Nb alloys: Corrosion behavior through 21 days of immersion and tribocorrosion behavior against alumina [PDF]
Non-toxic and allergic free β-type Ti alloys are attractive metallic implant materials due to their lower Young's modulus and good biocompatibility, but the corrosion and tribocorrosion behavior are yet to be fully understood.

Tribocorrosion behavior of Nb coating deposited by double-glow plasma alloying
Titanium and titanium alloys are considered as good implant materials, but their poor tribocorrosion resistance limits further development. In this study, niobium coating (DG-Nb) was deposited on TA3 pure titanium (Pure Ti) by double-glow plasma alloying
