[Karyosphere capsule in Tribolium castaneum oocytes].

Tsitologiia, 2014
Structure and composition of the karyosphere (karyosome) capsule were studied in the oocytes of a laboratory insect, Tribolium castaneum, with the use of electron microscopy and immunoelectron cytochemistry. Basing on the study of nuclear structure dynamics, we distinguished 8 stages that characterize the period of oocyte growth. At the diplotene stage,

The Effects of Prior Environments on Tribolium castaneum

The Journal of Animal Ecology, 1976
Flour beetles, Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) and T. confusum (Duval), have been the subject of many studies in ecology and genetics. The most important demographic attributes of Tribolium are fecundity, fertility, development time, survivorship and dispersive proclivities, and flour beetles also exhibit cannibalistic behaviour (intra-species and inter ...

The effects of microbiota on development and resistance in Tribolium castaneum

2014
The relevance of microbial communities inhabiting different animal species is in- creasingly being studied in a broad spectrum, ranging from sponges to primates. Although the red our beetle Tribolium castaneum represents a well-established experimental model organism for studying questions in ecology, evolution and development, the relevance of its ...
