Tribological properties of grease modifications

2019
The article assesses the efficiency of modification of greases with nanosized polytitanate potassium. The studies were carried out on a four-ball friction machine. The results of tribological tests of experimental lubricating compositions prepared using different concentrations of potassium polytitanate were obtained.

Tribological Properties of Solid Materials

1978
Much of the material in the previous chapters has been concerned with the tribological properties of metals, and it is not necessary to reiterate it here. In particular, the effect of hardness on resistance to wear was mentioned frequently in Chapter 3 and the importance of oxide films was stressed in Section 3.5.

Tribological Properties of Metallic and Ceramic Coatings

2000
The physical and chemical phenomena that govern both the friction and wear in moving contacts take place at the surfaces of the solids in relative motion. Usually, the interaction mechanisms at the outermost surfaces are the most crucial for tribological performance.

Tribological properties of PA66 nanocomposites

2012
Nano- and micro- composites were prepared from a PA66 matrix with the addition of varying content of nanoclay, fullerene, polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) and glass spheres. The composites’ scratch hardness was evaluated by using Pelletier’s model and results were correlated with their bulk mechanical properties.

Tribological Properties of Rubberlike Materials

1983
Friction is reggarded as a fundamental energy-dissipative mechanism1,2 as a result of which surface degradation and wear occur. In the case of rubberlike materials, such a mechanism exhibits distinct viscoelastic properties, and it is common to distinguish between adhesional and hysteresis friction.
