Stabilization of amorphous calcium phosphate in the structure of hydroxyapatite during liquid-phase synthesis

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов
Amorphized hydroxyapatite with stabilized inclusions of amorphous calcium phosphate was obtained by a wet synthesis at pH 11. Reliable indicators of the presence of amorphous calcium phosphate in the hydroxyapatite structure includes: 1) peaks of α ...

Prospective randomised controlled trial comparing PLLA and PLDLA/HA/β‐TCP interference screws in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: CT scans, MRI and clinical outcomes

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Modifying interference screw composition may ensure better osteoconductive properties in order to reduce tunnel enlargement after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. The primary and secondary purposes were to evaluate tunnel and screw volume changes in poly‐L‐lactide acid (PLLA) and poly‐D‐lactic acid + hydroxyapatite + β ...

Tricalcium Phosphate-Trimagnesium Phosphate System

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, Japan, 1958

Tricalcium Phosphate and its Variation [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1958
Abstract Properties of tricalcium phosphate and effects of many other ingredients upon the structure and solubility of the phosphate were investigated. By the reaction of calcium salts with phosphates in aqueous solution, tricalcium phosphate hydrate with a definite structure is not formed but hydroxy apatite with an excess of phosphoric

Effect of Intrinsic Carbon in Hot Briquetted Iron on Melting and Refining Efficiency under Electric Arc Furnace Conditions for Sustainable Steelmaking with Active Use of H2‐Reduced Iron

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The melting behavior of hot briquetted iron (HBI) is observed and compared with FactSage computing simulation. When using HBI in an electric arc furnace process, a proper design of intrinsic carbon content in HBI, charging ratio of HBI, and addition of lime are proposed to be essential to control the slag volume, maintain slag basicity, and mitigate ...

Biocompatibility With Osteogenic Potential of Premixed Bioceramic Cements for Use in Apical Surgery

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the biocompatibility and osteogenic potential of premixed bioceramic cements (PBCs)—CeraPutty, EndoCEM MTA Premixed, Well‐Root PT, and One‐Fil PT Injectable—as alternatives to mineral trioxide aggregate for retrograde filling in endodontic microsurgery.

Navigating the Flames: Comparative Analysis of Cremation Practices in the Roman and Early Medieval Periods at Gbely‐Kojatín (SK) and Přítluky (CZ)

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cremation became the dominant funerary practice in the Middle Danube Region during the Roman Period (RP) (1st–4th century) and reappeared in the Early Medieval Ages (EMA) (6th/7th–8th century). This study aims to reconstruct differences in cremation conditions from the Gbely‐Kojatín site (Slovakia, RP and EMA) and the Přítluky site (Czech ...
