Indirect polarographic determination of trichlorfon and dichlorvos

Zeitschrift für Lebensmittel-Untersuchung und -Forschung, 1974
A method of indirect polarographic determination of trichlorfou and dichlorvos was elaborated. Glyoxal, the product of alkaline hydrolysis of both these organophosphorus insecticides, condenses with o-phenylendiamine to forming quinoxaline, which is polarographically reduced, giving a well-developed two-electron wave.

Prenatal effects of trichlorfon on the guinea pig brain

Archives of Toxicology, 1986
The organophosphorus compound trichlorfon, dimethyl (2,2,2-trichloro-1-hydroxyethyl) phosphonate, was administered by stomach tube (100 mg/kg) to pregnant guinea pigs at two different stages of gestation (days 36, 37, 38 and 51, 52, 53). The pups developed locomotory disturbances, and post mortem examination revealed significantly decreased weights of ...

MICROWAVE SYNTHESIS OF TRICHLORFON AND ITS ANALOGUES

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2004
The synthesis of dialkyl-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-Hydroxyethyl) phosphonates using dialkyl hydrogen phosphite and chloral hydrate under solvent-free condition by microwave irradiation is reported. The products were chrachetrized using 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and 31 P NMR spectroscopy.

Trichlorfon exposure, spindle aberrations and nondisjunction in mammalian oocytes

Chromosoma, 1998
Consumption of trichlorfon-poisoned fish by women in a small Hungarian village has been associated with trisomy resulting from an error of meiosis II in oogenesis. We therefore examined mouse oocytes exposed for 3 h during fertilization to 50 microg/ml trichlorfon. Spindle morphology was not visibly altered by the pesticide.

Hepatotoxicity of trichlorfon and dichlorvos in isolated rat hepatocytes

Toxicology, 1992
Hepatotoxicity of organophosphorus insecticides, trichlorofon and dichlorvos, a dechlorinated form of the former, was examined in isolated hepatocytes from untreated control and phenobarbital-pretreated (80 mg/kg, i.p., for 3 days) rats. These compounds produced toxic effects on hepatocytes as evidenced by malondialdehyde production and lactate ...

Trichlorfon effects on mouse oocytes following in vivo exposure

Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis, 2008
Trichlorfon (TCF) is a widely used pesticide, which according to some epidemiological and experimental data, is suspected of being aneugenic in human and mouse cells. In particular, in vitro studies in mouse oocytes showed the induction of aneuploidy and polyploidy at the first meiotic division and of severe morphological alterations of the second ...

Genotoxic activity of dichlorvos, trichlorfon and dichloroacetaldehyde

Pesticide Science, 1984
AbstractTwo structurally related organophosphorous insecticides, dichlorvos and trichlorfon, and their main metabolite dichloroacetaldehyde, were assayed for their ability to induce DNA repair, detected as unscheduled DNA synthesis in human epithelial‐like cell (EUE) cultures in vitro.

Distribution and placental transfer of trichlorfon in guinea pigs

Archives of Toxicology, 1986
Radiolabelled trichlorfon, dimethyl-(2,2,2-trichloro-1-hydroxyethyl)phosphonate, was administered by stomach tube to pregnant guinea pigs on days 37 and 52 of gestation and examined by the whole body autoradiography method. The results showed that the radiolabelled compound was rapidly distributed to the main organs of the dam with the highest ...

Enantioseparation and enantioselective behavior of trichlorfon enantiomers in sediments

Chirality, 2017
AbstractTrichlorfon (TF), an organophosphorus insecticide, has been widely used in seawater aquaculture; it is easily degraded to the highly toxic insecticide, dichlorvos (DDVP). In this study, the enantioseparation of TF enantiomers, as well as their degradation behavior and product (DDVP) formation in mariculture pond sediments, was investigated. The

An Evaluation of Trichlorfon as an Anthelmintic for Swine

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1970
SUMMARY Twenty-four swine with naturally occurring helminth infections were placed in individual cages and treated with aqueous solutions of 0.05, 0.06, 0.07, or 0.09% trichlorfona solution. The volume of solution administered in water was calculated to provide dosages of 44, 53, 62, or 80 mg./kg. of body weight. Efficacy of treatment was determined by
