The biosynthesis of harzianolide by Trichoderma harzianum

Phytochemistry, 1992
Abstract The biosynthesis of harzianolide by Trichoderma harzianum is shown to involve two rearrangements and the decarboxylation of a heptaketide.

Antifungal Metabolites from Trichoderma harzianum

Journal of Natural Products, 1993
A detailed examination of the metabolites produced in liquid cultures by a strain of Trichoderma harzianum, isolated from wheat roots, has resulted in the identification of a further five metabolites. Two of these, cyclonerodiol [5] and the octaketide keto diol 6, have previously been isolated from a strain of Trichoderma koningii.

What exactly is Trichoderma harzianum ?

Mycologia, 1998
AbstractTrichoderma harzianum is neotypified by an isolate from the type locality, and this neotype is fully described. It is compared with original herbarium specimens and recent isolates of T.

The purification and characterization of a Trichoderma harzianum exochitinase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1998
A chitinolytic enzyme was purified from the culture filtrate of T. harzianum (T198) by precipitation with ammonium sulphate followed by affinity binding to swollen chitin and release with 10% (v/v) acetic acid. The molecular weight of the enzyme was calculated to be 28 and 27.5 kD by gel filtration chromatography and SDS-PAGE, respectively.

Isolation and Structure of Harzianum A: A New Trichothecene from Trichoderma harzianum

Journal of Natural Products, 1994
A new trichothecene, harzianum A [1], was isolated from the soil-borne fungus Trichoderma harzianum. The structure of 1 was determined by extensive spectral analyses including the nmr techniques of PS-COSY, HMQC, HMBC, and NOESY. Harzianum A [1] contains a (Z,E,E)-2,4,6-octatriendioic acid esterified on the 4 beta hydroxyl group of trichodermol and is ...

Effect of pesticides on Trichoderma harzianum

2010 International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2010
In this paper, for improving the integrative controlling effect of Trichoderma harzianum, effect of 14 pesticides on T. harzianum was studied with growth rate method and the circle of inhibiting bacterium method. The results suggested that all 14 tested pesticides with different concentration showed different controlling effect on mycelia growth of T ...

Compost is a carrier medium for Trichoderma harzianum

BioControl, 2020
Trichoderma spp. are one of the most commercialized fungal biocontrol agents. To improve its applicability, while preserving its effectiveness against diseases, a selection of composts were tested as carrier mediums. The population dynamic of T. harzianum was studied in three composts differing in biological characteristics based on the Nematode Index ...

In vitro antagonism of bioluminescent fungi by Trichoderma harzianum

Mycopathologia, 1991
Two species of bioluminescent fungi, Panellus stypticus and Omphalotus olearius were placed in contact with three different strains of interfungal pathogenic Trichoderma harzianum. Subsequent light emission by the luminous fungi and advance of the interfungal pathogens were compared. Relative differences among the pathogens were reflected in their rate

Induced proteome of Trichoderma harzianum by Botrytis cinerea

Mycological Research, 2009
As a notable biocontrol agent, Trichoderma harzianum can antagonize a diverse array of phytopathogenic fungi, including Botrytis cinerea, Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum. Elucidating the biocontrol mechanism of T. harzianum in response to the pathogens enables it to be exploited in the control of plant diseases.

Xylanase production by Trichoderma harzianum E58

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 1989
Growth of Trichoderma harzianum E58 on hemicellulose-rich media, both in batch and fermentor cultures, resulted in independent profiles for the production of xylanase and endoglucanase enzymes. Dramatic differences in the ratio of xylanase to endoglucanase activities were observed among cultures grown on cellulose-rich Solka Floc and xylan.
