Two trichodinid species were identified from freshwater fishes, Mystus bleekeri and Glossogobius giuris, in the Shitalakshya River of Gazipur district, Bangladesh. Trichodina acuta Lom, 1961 is found for the first time in Bangladesh. Trichodina shitalakshyae sp. n.
