Trichodina ctenophorii N. Sp., a Novel Symbiont of Ctenophores of the Northern Coast of the Gulf of Mexico

Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology, 1997
ABSTRACT. Peritrich ciliates of the genus Trichodina are internal or external symbionts of invertebrate and vertebrate hosts. We describe here Trichodina ctenophorii n. sp., a symbiont of Mnemiopsis mccraydii and Beroë ovata (Phylum Ctenophora).

Isolation of bioactive components from Chelidonium majus L. with activity against Trichodina sp.

Aquaculture, 2011
Abstract Trichodinids are the most common ciliates parasite present on the skin of pond-reared fish and can cause severe economic losses in aquaculture and ornamental fish breeding. The present study aims to evaluate the antiparasitic activity of the active components from Chelidonium majus L. against Trichodina sp.

A new species of Trichodina lishuiensis n. sp. (Ciliophora: Trichodinidae) in urinary bladder of Odorrana schmackeri (Amphibia: Ranidae) from Zhejiang, China

Acta Tropica, 2021
Endoparasitic trichodinids are rather rare ciliates. In this study we describe a new species named Trichodina lishuiensis from the bladder of Odorrana schmackeri collected in Zhejiang, China, with the prevalence of 20% (9/45). We identified T. lishuiensis as a new species by morphological comparison and molecular analysis.

Occurrence of Trichodinid Ciliophorans (Ciliophora: Peritrichida) in the freshwater fishes of the river Churni with description of Trichodina glossogobae sp. nov. in West Bengal, India [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Parasitic Diseases, 2011
Between January 2011 and March 2011 occurrence of trichodinid ciliophorans were studied in the freshwater fishes of the river Churni. The biodiversity survey revealed presence of a new species of the genus Trichodina (Ehrenberg 1830) infesting Glossogobius giuris (Hamilton-Buchanan).

The Journal of Parasitology, 1940
Trichodina zrechi n. sp. is a peritrichous ciliate which lives in the mid-gut of the echiuroid worm Urechis caupo Fisher and MacGinitie, 1928. Most of the worms used were taken from Drake's Bay (longitude 122? 57', latitude 38? 4'), California, but some were secured from Elkhorn Slough (longitude 121? 46', latitude 36?
