Understanding how species and their interactions respond to extreme heat events is important to evaluate the impact of climate change. Using a well‐established host‐parasitoid system, we show that the life history responses of hosts and parasitoids to heat waves can largely depend on humidity levels. Abstract Climate change is projected to increase the

The objective of this work was to determine the functional response of the parasitoid Trichogramma pretiosum on Trichoplusia ni eggs at different temperatures (20, 25, and 30ºC) and egg densities (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 eggs).

Eggs of the pest caterpillar Trichoplusia ni were exposed to sublethal concentrations of the bioinsecticide spinosyn. In the hatched caterpillars, genes encoding proteins involved in detoxification strategies were upregulated. Trichogramma brassicae wasps that emerged from these eggs had larger tibia length and wing area, suggesting higher performance.

The role of insect cell lines in an artificial diet for the parasitold wasp, Trichogramma pretiosum
Trichogramma species are mass-produced for biological control using host eggs. Artificial diets have been developed to reduce production costs, however, most include insect haemolymph as a major component, which still results in a significant expense ...

RESPONSE OF TRICHOGRAMMA PRETIOSUM FEMALES TO VOLATILE SYNOMONES FROM TOMATO PLANTS1,2
Volatile synomones in tomato plants stimulate search behavior in Trichogramma pretiosum Riley, resulting in increased rates of parasitization in both the laboratory and field. In a Y-tube olfactometer, female T.

Abstract Fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) is an invasive pest of agricultural crops including sweet corn and maize. The moth was first recorded in Australia in January 2020 and is now considered established in most states and territories, and research is underway to develop management strategies. Extensive rearing of S.

SELEÇÃO DE ESPÉCIES DE Trichogramma sp. EM OVOS DA TRAÇA-DAS-CRUCÍFERAS, Plutella xylostella
Trichogramma species are found naturally parasitizing eggs of several lepidopteran species. Among the Trichogramma species, however, there is preference for certain lepidopteran species as host. Therefore, to succeed in a biological control program using

Pest risk assessment of Leucinodes orbonalis for the European Union
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a quantitative risk assessment of Leucinodes orbonalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), the eggplant fruit and shoot borer, for the EU. The assessment focused on potential pathways for entry, climatic conditions favouring establishment, spread and impact ...
