Coleoptera claws and trichome interlocking
Abstract The present study tests the hypothesis that the specialized claws with a basal tooth found in some coccinellid beetles represent an adaptation to interlock with flexible unbranched trichomes of different plants. We compared the attachment ability of three Coleoptera species, Chnootriba elaterii, Harmonia axyridis (both Coleoptera ...

The dramatic movements of some carnivorous plants species are triggered by sensory structures derived from trichomes. While unusual plant species such as the Venus fly trap and sundews may be expected to have elaborate sensors to capture their insect prey, more modest plant species might not be expected to have similar sensory capabilities.

Conformable Ferrimagnetic Tattoo Electrodes for Plant Electrophysiology
The newly developed ferrimagnetic tattoo electrode is capable of measuring plant electrophysiological activity outside the Faraday cage. Its ability to adhere without damaging the plant tissue allows long‐term recordings. This premise opens new avenues for in‐field monitoring of plant health through electrophysiology.

Higher Elevations Tend to Have Higher Proportion of Plant Species With Glandular Trichomes
Glandular trichomes are well known to participate in plant chemical and physical defenses against herbivores, especially herbivorous insects. However, little is known about large-scale geographical patterns in glandular trichome occurrence.

A ZIF‐90 nanocarrier delivers dinotefuran and suppresses NlABCG3 and NlABCH1 in resistant Nilaparvata lugens. This system combines pH/ATP‐triggered release with enhanced foliar retention, improving efficacy while sparing honeybees and promoting rice growth, offering a promising resistance‐breaking strategy.

From ecological principles to precision engineering of plant microbiomes for sustainable agriculture. The plant holobiont integrates diverse microbial niches (including rhizosphere, endosphere, phyllosphere, seed, and aerial‐root mucilagesphere), host genetics (namely M genes), and host metabolites. Furthermore, molecular dialogues, including rhizobial

This research provides a complete morphoanatomical description of Lysimachia nummularia, as well as a HPTLC profile. Standard techniques of light and scanning electron microscopies, as well as standard techniques of HPTLC, were used. ABSTRACT Primulaceae are distributed all over the world, encompassing around 2590 species.

Structure and distribution of glandular trichomes in three species of Bignoniaceae [PDF]
Glandular trichomes play a major role in the morphological characterization of the Bignoniaceae. Due to their great diversity of forms and functions, this study aimed to inventory the glandular trichomes present in the aerial vegetative axis of ...
