Miktoniscus medcofi(Isopoda, Trichoniscidae) in Texas: a range extension for the genus and species
The Southwestern Naturalist, 2016Abstract We report the occurrence of the terrestrial isopod Miktoniscus medcofi from a fen in Real County, Texas, representing a new state record for the species as well as a western range extension for the genus. Morphologic characteristics closely conform to the species description and distinguish the Texas population from congeners.

At present the genus Alpioniscus includes two subgenera: Alpioniscus s. str. and Illyrionethes. The latter includes 13 species in the Dinaric Karst, two species from Sardinia (A. fragilis (Budde-Lund, 1885) and A. thanit Taiti & Argano, 2009) and one from Spain (A. escolai Cruz & Dalens, 1989).

Travaux de l`Institut de Spéologie "Émile Racovitza"The species Haplophthalmus movilae, long considered as restricted to the sulfidic groundwater ecosystem of Movile Cave was collected from an endogeous location outside the cave. This outlines the endogeous origin of the four species of Oniscidea inhabiting Movile Cave and possible movement of certain species between this cave and other ecosystems.

1984The new species Oritoniscus beroni from Ulassai (NU, Sardinia) is described. O. beroni differs from all the other species of the genus in the presence of a conical process on the male pereopod 7 ischium.

In the former Soviet Union, there are species in the woodlice fauna that extend their ranges. In particular, the number of registrations of Hyloniscus riparius, previously found in Kyiv, has risen to eight since the 1990s. In addition, all new findings were made to the east of the previous ones.
