ペットとして飼われていた5匹のシマリスにおけるTrichophyton mentagrophytes (Arthroderma vanbreuseghemii)感染を報告する. いずれも, 鼻端, 耳など顔面に, 落屑性の小円形脱毛病巣がみられ, 同様の臨床症状を示した. これらは, 韓国から輸入され, ペットショップを通じて飼主にわたる間のいずれかで感染をうけたものと思われる.
