Resting muscle tension and trigger points in elite junior short-track athletes and healthy non-athletes: a cross-sectional examination

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living
IntroductionShort-track speed skating (short track) is an Olympic sport characterized by a specific body position and counterclockwise movement on the track.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Pneumothorax after trigger point injection: A case report and review of literature

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Myofascial pain syndrome is defined as "pain and/or autonomic phenomena referred from active myofascial trigger points". Trigger point injection is an effective treatment option, which is widely used to treat myofascial pain.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Comparison of the Immediate Effects of Various Durations of Trigger Point Compression Technique on Latent Trigger Points of the Upper Trapezius Muscle

open access: yes, 2019
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to investigate the immediate effect of time (30 and 90 seconds) trigger point compression techniques in the latent trigger points of upper trapezius muscle.

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

Myofascial Trigger point and Two point discrimination changes in MTrP region

open access: yes, 2010
The main purpose of this thesis, called The local changes in discriminatory sensation above a myofascial Trigger Point, was to assess the relationship of a local nociception in the form of the myofascial Trigger Point to the local discriminatory ...
