Spatiotemporal Correlation between Artificially Triggered and Adjacent Natural Lightning Flashes
A triggered lightning flash (TLF) provides a unique perspective on the relationship between spatiotemporal proximity flashes, owing to its determined location and time, convenient direction measurement, and explicit association with the charge region. In

On the Classification of Self-Triggered versus OtherTriggered Lightning Flashes [PDF]
We present in this paper lightning current measurements and LMA (Lightning Mapping Array) data associated with upward flashes observed at the Sàntis Tower during Summer 2017. The LMA network consists of six stations located in the vicinity of the tower at distances ranging from 100 m to 11 km from it.

Abstract BACKGROUND Preharvest light management is increasingly used to enhance yield and fruit quality in soilless systems, yet its effects on unripe melon fruits remain poorly understood. This study evaluated the impact of supplemental red–blue light‐emitting diode (LED) lighting applied during cultivation in a closed‐cycle hydroponic system on ...

New insights into lightning processes gained from triggered-lightning experiments in Florida and Alabama [PDF]
Analyses of electric and magnetic fields measured at distances from tens to hundreds of meters from the ground strike point of triggered lightning at Camp Blanding, Florida, and at 10 and 20 m at Fort McClellan, Alabama, in conjunction with currents ...

A Multiyear CONUS‐Wide Analysis of Lightning Strikes to Wind Turbines
Lightning strikes to wind turbines (WTs) pose significant hazards and operational costs to the renewable wind industry. These strikes fall into two categories: downward cloud‐to‐ground (CG) strokes and upward discharges, which can be self‐initiated or ...

Low Frequency Magnetic Field Observations of Natural Positive Leaders Featuring Stepwise Propagation
We examine the low‐frequency (LF) magnetic pulses recorded for the positive leader in two natural lightning flashes as recorded on the high‐speed video camera.

Fire‐induced shifts in activity patterns of predators and prey in the Brazilian Pantanal
Using camera trap data, we observed that 5 of 6 prey species showed statistically significant changes in temporal activity patterns, while jaguars were the only predator species to adjust activity when comparing pre‐fire and post‐fire periods in an isolated rocky formation in the Pantanal region.
