C‐Reactive Protein–Albumin–Lymphocyte (CALLY) Index as an Independent Risk Factor for Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 48, Issue 6, June 2025.
The CALLY index was identified as independent predictors of postablation recurrence in patients with atrial fibrillation. Our findings suggested that the CALLY index may serve as a novel prognostic marker for predicting arrhythmia recurrence following catheter ablation.

The Ancient Drug Salicylate Indirectly Targets Fructose‐1,6‐Bisphosphatase to Suppress Liver Glucose Production in Diet‐Induced Obese Mice

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 241, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Aims The benefit of salicylate in the treatment of diabetes has been recognized for over a century; however, challenging side effects have prevented widespread use. A better understanding of the relevant enzyme targets mediating its anti‐hyperglycaemic effect may lead to the development of novel therapies for diabetes.

Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis on the Prevalence of Radiotherapy‐Induced Hypopituitarism in Adults With Primary Non‐Pituitary Brain Tumours

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, Volume 102, Issue 6, Page 683-698, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Context It is well recognised there is a high prevalence of pituitary dysfunction in childhood brain tumours survivors who are treated with radiotherapy. In contrast, the potential for survivors of brain tumours arising in adulthood to develop radiotherapy‐induced hypopituitarism may be underestimated.
