Porous copolymers of trimethylolpropane triacrylate and acrylonitrile

Die Makromolekulare Chemie, 1993
AbstractThe homopolymer of trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPA) was synthesized by suspension polymerization using a thermodynamically good solvent (toluene) as a porogen (vol. ratio 1:1). This polymer possesses a high specific surface area (437 m2 · g−1) and porosity (50%).

Mechanical stability of trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate‐based polymers

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1992
AbstractTrimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) was homopolymerized and copolymerized with methyl methacrylate (MMA), glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), and acrylamide (AA), respectively, in various solvents and at various temperatures. For comparison, poly(styrene‐co‐divinyl benzene) [poly(S‐co‐DVB)] gels were selected.

The kinetics of epoxidation of trimethylolpropane ester

European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, 2012
AbstractKinetics pertaining epoxidation reaction of a palm oil‐based synthetic lubricant trimethylolpropane (TMP) ester were investigated. The epoxidation reaction of TMP ester was carried out utilizing peracetic acid generated by an in situ technique. The analysis of the reaction kinetics was performed within the low temperature (30, 50, and 60°C) and

Porosity determination of poly(trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate) gels

Die Makromolekulare Chemie, 1991
AbstractTrimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) was suspension‐polymerized with toluene as poreforming agent. The concentration of the monomer (TRIM) in the porogen was varied between 20 and 50 vol.‐% of the organic phase. The poly(TRIM) particles had narrow particle‐size distributions.

Solid-Solid Phase Transition in Trimethylolpropane (TRMP)

Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie, 2002
An orientationally disordered crystalline (ODIC) plastic phase (γ) was observed in Trimethylolpropane (TRMP) during heating by high resolution thermal and X-ray diffraction analyses. TRMP is a potential thermal energy storage material. The enthalpies of solid-solid (α → γ at 327.8 K) and fusion (γ → liquid at 332.7 K) transitions are 16.36 kJ/mol and 0.
