Synthesis of Trimethylolpropane Esters by Base‐Catalyzed Transesterification
European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, 2020AbstractTrimethylolpropane (TMP) esters are synthesized from fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) and TMP to produce a fluid with properties suitable for use as a lubricant base oil, exhibiting good stability, and low‐temperature performances. In this study, triacylglyceride (TAG) molecules are modified to produce FAME and then linked to TMP.

The kinetics of epoxidation of trimethylolpropane ester
European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, 2012AbstractKinetics pertaining epoxidation reaction of a palm oil‐based synthetic lubricant trimethylolpropane (TMP) ester were investigated. The epoxidation reaction of TMP ester was carried out utilizing peracetic acid generated by an in situ technique. The analysis of the reaction kinetics was performed within the low temperature (30, 50, and 60°C) and

Epoxidized Jatropha curcas-based trimethylolpropane triester (ETMPJO) was prepared by the in-situ epoxidation reaction of trimethylolpropane ester (TMPJO) catalyzed by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in the presence of formic acid. The epoxidation process was optimized through the variable parameters such as hydrogen peroxide to tmpjo molar ratio, formic acid

Kinetics of transesterification of palm‐based methyl esters with trimethylolpropane
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 2004AbstractKinetics of transesterification of palm‐based methyl esters (POME) with trimethylolpropane (TMP) to polyol esters was investigated. A kinetic model of reaction was obtained by assuming a series of irreversible elementary reactions at various temperatures. The reaction rate constants were determined under limited conditions.
