Modeling of reaction kinetics for transesterification of palm-based methyl esters with trimethylolpropane

Bioresource Technology, 2010
A mathematical model describing chemical kinetics of transesterification of palm-based methyl esters with trimethylolpropane has been developed. The model was developed by utilizing nonlinear regression method, which is an efficient and powerful way to determine rate constants for both forward and reverse reactions.

The effect of palm oil trimethylolpropane ester on extreme pressure lubrication

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology, 2013
This paper presents the experimental results for the extreme pressure characteristics of a palm oil-based trimethylolpropane (TMP) ester blended with paraffin oil obtained using a four-ball machine. The load and speed of the sample were set between 20–120 kg and 1770 rpm, respectively.

Production of trimethylolpropane esters of rapeseed oil fatty acids by immobilized lipase

Biotechnology Techniques, 1997
The polyol, trimethylolpropane (2-ethyl-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol), and a mixture of rapeseed oil fatty acid methyl esters were transesterified by immobilized lipases without additional organic solvent. The conversion to the polyol tri-ester with immobilized Rhizomucor mieheilipase Lipozyme IM 20 was about 75% after 24 h at 58°C, 5.3 kPa, with no

Poly(ester amine) Synthesized from Trimethylolpropane Triacrylate and Spermine as an Efficient siRNA Carrier

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2013
Small interfering RNA (siRNA) is a promising candidate for gene therapy due to the strong and specific gene silencing effects. However, to effectively silence any protein, lack of an efficient delivery system is major obstacle for siRNA therapeutics. In the present study, we report on the development of a novel poly(ester amine) (PEA) as an efficient ...

Synthesis of Palm Oil Based Trimethylolpropane Esters with Improved Pour Points

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2005
Palm oil based trimethylolpropane (TMP) esters are potential biodegradable base stocks for environmentally friendly lubricants. To improve the low-temperature properties of palm oil based TMP esters, which are well below the requirements set by the lubricants' manufacturers, the high oleic content palm oil based TMP ester with a pour point between −10 ...
