Design of new energetic materials based on derivatives of 1,3,5-trinitrobenzenes: A theoretical and computational prediction of detonation properties, blast impulse and combustion parameters [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
This paper reports the design of some of the new ionic based high energy materials derived from the anion of picric acid (2,4,6-trinitrobenzene-1-ol), styphnic acid (2,4,6-trinitrobenzene-1,3-diol) and 2,4,6-trinitrophloroglucinol (2,4,6-trinitrobenzene ...

A Comparative Study of the Synthesis and Hydrolysis of sym-Triaminobenzene Homologues [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Here, we investigated the synthetic processes for the methyl derivatives of sym-triaminobenzene and phloroglucinol, the essential chemical reactants coming into use in the production of dyes and pigments, and medicinal drugs for different purposes.

Synthesis of 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5- trinitrobenzene [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2011
The 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TATB) is perhaps the most thermostable and insensitive explosive known. Its low sensibility to shock makes it suitable for military and civil applications. TATB application is done either alone or in combination with another high energetic material.

1,2,4-TRINITROBENZENE AS A THIOL REAGENT [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry Letters, 1983
Abstract The 2,4-dinitrophenylation of thiol or amino group with 1,2,4-trinitrobenzene proceeded quantitatively at pH 8.5 and 30 °C. The rate of S-dinitrophenylation was ≈104 times faster than that of N-dinitrophenylation. So this reaction can be used for both the determination of thiol even in the presence of large excess amine and the ...

Persistence of 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene in the environment

open access: yesEnvironmental Research, 2023
2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TATB) is an Insensitive High Explosive (IHE) that is increasingly being used as a safer alternative to traditional energetic materials. However, the high thermal stability of TATB poses challenges for its disposal, particularly through existing open burning methods and its ability to remain in the environment for ...

Molecular Complexes of Methoxyindoles with 1,3,5-Trinitrobenzene and Tetracyanoethylene [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1972
Association constants for 1:1 molecular complexes formed between 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene and various methoxy-substituted indoles have been determined by chemical-shift measurements in their nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. The values of association constants for the molecular complexes are comparable to those obtained by optical spectroscopy.
