Five New Pseudopolymorphs of sym-Trinitrobenzene

Crystal Growth & Design, 2003
1,3,5-Trinitrobenzene (TNB) was recrystd. from about 30 solvents and five mixed solvents in around 50 expts. to yield five new solvates. All the solvates lose their solvent readily, and special precautions were required to det. their crystal structures. In all cases, the solvents that gave solvates are electron-rich aroms.

ChemInform Abstract: Trifluoromethylation of 1,3,5‐Trinitrobenzene.

ChemInform, 1990
AbstractThe trifluoromethyl anion, generated by thermal decomposition of potassium trifluoroacetate (II), is trapped with 1,3,5‐trinitrobenzene (I), forming the Meisenheimer complex (III) which is characterized by its 1H NMR spectrum.

A zwitterionic Meisenheimer complex of 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1999
In molecules of the zwitterionic Meisenheimer complex 4-(N-pyridiniomethyl)-1,3-dioxolane-2-spiro-1'-2',4',6'-trinitrocyclohexadienide (C 14 H 12 N 4 O 8 ), the nitro groups do not possess equivalent geometries. The C-N bond to the nitro group para to the saturated C atom is shorter than those of the others, and bond lengths vary considerably between ...

HYDROGEN EXCHANGE IN s-TRINITROBENZENE

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1966
Hydrogen exchange in s-trinitrobenzene has been observed in the medium 90% dimethylformamide – 10% deuterium oxide containing sodium deuteriooxide (0.01 M). The proton transfer process between s-trinitrobenzene and base is therefore established. The factors which may contribute to the importance of the proton transfer process relative to the formation

Thermal decomposition of 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene

Combustion and Flame, 1981
Abstract The products of sublimation and thermal decomposition of 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene have been determined mass spectrometrically in the temperature range 200–300°C employing both the effusion and Langmuir evaporation methods.

Bis‐aniline‐1,3,5‐trinitrobenzene complexes: (Short Communication)

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1971
AbstractRecently, it has been shown1 that the association constants of 1,3,5‐trinitrobenzene with various hydrocarbons containing two equivalent, symmetrically disposed, phenyl rings have twice the values of the complexes of the corresponding “half” molecules (Table I).
