Benzoxaboroles Are Inhibitors of the η-Class Carbonic Anhydrase From Plasmodium falciparum. [PDF]

open access: yesArch Pharm (Weinheim)
Benzoxaborole‐based inhibitors demonstrate potent, low‐micromolar inhibition of the essential malaria target PfaCA and are effective in vitro suppression of P. falciparum. Molecular docking confirms target engagement via zinc coordination, establishing this chemotype as a promising scaffold for the development of next‐generation antimalarials ...

Outcomes of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in cardiac sarcoidosis patients with a range of ejection fractions. [PDF]

open access: yesESC Heart Fail
Outcomes of cardiac resynchronization therapy in cardiac sarcoidosis patients with a range of left ventricular ejection fractions. Abstract Aims In cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) patients, the benefit of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) remains unclear. We sought to assess the short‐term and long‐term effects of CRT in CS patients with a range of left

Speaking in gestures: Left dorsal and ventral frontotemporal brain systems underlie communication in conducting

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 324-350, January 2023., 2023
In instrumentalists and conductors, a left frontotemporal dorsal system involving Broca's pars opercularis (F3op) distinguished conducting gestures from similar gestures to beat rhythms. A ventral system including the Broca's pars triangularis (F3tri) differentiated this motor act in conductors from those in instrumentalists.

Repeating Low Frequency Icequakes in the Mont‐Blanc Massif Triggered by Snowfalls

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 127, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Deformation mechanisms of glaciers are highly sensitive to basal temperature; the motion of temperate glaciers is dominated by basal slip while cold‐based glaciers deform mainly by internal creep. While basal slip is usually aseismic, unstable slip sometimes occurs and can be detected by seismometers.

Hypocrellin: A Natural Photosensitizer and Nano-Formulation for Enhanced Molecular Targeting of PDT of Melanoma. [PDF]

open access: yesWiley Interdiscip Rev Nanomed Nanobiotechnol
Nanotechnology and combination with natural photosensitizers are a prospective means of controlling cancer. Studies on photodynamic therapy (PDT) have shown that improvements in drug administration are required in order to preserve or enhance the mechanistic cell killing effects of PDT on malignant cells.
