Recent amplification of triose phosphate isomerase related sequences in lettuce
Genome, 1992A random cDNA clone was identified as distinguishing near-isogenic lines for downy mildew resistance in lettuce. The clone detected multiple restriction fragments in genomic Southern blots of lettuce. Restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs) detected by this clone mapped to separate clusters of resistance genes; therefore, these sequences ...

Protein chemistry of triose phosphate isomerase
1976The protein, triose phosphate isomerase (TIM) has been isolated from fresh chicken breast muscle and purified by anion exchange chromatography on DSAE Sephadex A50 column. Further purification proceeded via Biogel A DEAE resin. The TIM fractions of both chromatographies were contained in two adjacent protein peaks, A and B.

Studies on liver and muscle triose phosphate isomerase
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1966Abstract Liver triose phosphate isomerase was separated from liver alcohol dehydrogenase chromatographically. The liver and muscle isomerases were compared. Both isomerases were inhibited by glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate. This phenomenon was overcome by several stimulating agents.

Metabolic Correction of Triose Phosphate Isomerase Deficiencyin Vitroby Complementation
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1997Inherited deficiency of triose phosphate isomerase (TPI), the enzyme that catalyses the interconversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, is characterised by an accumulation of intracellular DHAP and markedly reduced enzyme activity in cells and tissues, resulting in progressive, usually fatal neuromuscular ...

Simulation analysis of triose phosphate isomerase: conformational transition and catalysis
Faraday Discussions, 1992A theoretical approach is employed to study the catalysis of the dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) to D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (GAP) reaction by the enzyme triose phosphate isomerase (TIM). The conformational change in a loop involved in protecting the active site from solvent is examined by use of X-ray data and molecular dynamics simulations.

Phylogenetic utility of dynamin and triose phosphate isomerase
Systematic Entomology, 2007Abstract Dynamin and triose phosphate isomerase (Tpi), two markers suggested as potentially useful for insect phylogenetics, have been sequenced for 12 scale insect taxa (Hemiptera: Coccoidea). Protocols are given for their amplification using conventional polymerase chain reaction, and their phylogenetic ...

Chloroplast and cytoplasmic enzymes II. Pea leaf triose phosphate isomerases
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1971Abstract 1. 1. The predominant forms of pea (Pisum sativum) leaf chloroplast and cytoplasmic triose phosphate isomerases ( d -glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate ketol-isomerase, EC 5.3.1.1), separated by isoelectric focusing, have been characterized. 2. 2.
