Modelling and stability of FAST TCP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We introduce a discrete-time model of FAST TCP that fully captures the effect of self-clocking and compare it with the traditional continuous-time model.

Reconfigurable Spoof Plasmonic Skyrmion Electronics for Deformation‐Invariant Multimode Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flexible multimode sensor based on capacitively loaded spoof plasmonic skyrmions enables deformation‐invariant dielectric sensing with ultra‐compact size and high Q‐factor. Near‐equidistant resonances remain stable under shape change and bending, while capacitor loading improves bending robustness and multimode sensitivity, highlighting strong ...

A machine learning multitasking integrated framework and its derived [Mo]eq-[Fe]eq map for designing TRIP titanium alloys

open access: yesMaterials & Design
To enable rapid and accurate design of TRIP titanium alloys, an integrated multitasking framework based on the Stacking algorithm was developed, for the first time integrating the Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) to optimize hyperparameters in the ...

The Rational Locator: Why Travel Times Have Remained Stable [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper evaluates household travel surveys for the Washington metropolitan region conducted in 1968 and 1988, and shows that commuting times remain stable or decline over the twenty year period despite an increase in average travel distance, after ...

Shadow‐Calibrated Stereo Vision for Colorimetric Sweat Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By establishing a mathematical model that reconstructs 3D structures through geometric features of object shadows under controlled illumination, and combining it with Convolutional Neural Network‐based 2D image analysis for volumetric calibration, this work enables highly accurate 3D morphological reconstruction.

Does a satisfying trip result in more future trips with that mode? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Previous studies have indicated that travel satisfaction – the experienced emotions during, and cognitive evaluation of, a trip – can be affected by travel mode choice and other trip characteristics.

Precipitation‐Modulated Harmonic Architectures Enable Superior Strength–Ductility Synergy from Cryogenic to Elevated Temperatures in Nanostructured Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Precipitation‐modulated recrystallization enables a programmable bimodal harmonic architecture in a high‐entropy alloy, delivering 1–2 GPa yield strength with >10% ductility from −196 °C to 700 °C. The resulting broad‐temperature robustness arises from the synergy of dual‐mode nanoprecipitation, harmonic core–shell topology, and temperature‐adaptive ...

Impedance‐Matched High‐Overtone Thickness‐Shear Bulk Acoustic Resonators With Scalable Mode Volume

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bottom‐electrode‐free high‐overtone bulk acoustic resonator is achieved by lateral excitation of antisymmetric thickness‐shear modes on a lithium‐niobate‐on‐silicon platform. Planar electrode geometry eliminates conventional loading along the resonance path and confines acoustic energy within the electrode gap.
