Tooth discolouration and internal bleaching after the use of triple antibiotic paste
International Endodontic Journal, 2015AbstractAimTo assess the discolouration of teeth with closed and open apices after placement of triple antibiotic paste (TAP, ciprofloxacin, metronidazole and minocycline) in the pulp chamber and whether discolouration could be reversed by internal bleaching procedures.MethodologyTwenty extracted human mandibular premolars were divided into 2 groups (n

Triple antibiotic paste––Challenging intracanal medicament: A systematic review
Journal of International Oral Health, 2020Aim: To evaluate and compare the performance of triple antibiotic paste (TAP) as intracanal medicaments during the root canal treatment. Materials and Methods: Search strategy included the in vivo studies, in vitro studies, and clinical trials from the databases of PubMed Central, Cochrane, EBSCO, and MEDLINE from January 1981 to August 2019.

Deleterious effect of triple antibiotic paste on human periodontal ligament fibroblasts
International Endodontic Journal, 2013AbstractAimTo evaluate the cytotoxic effects of triple antibiotic paste (TAP), double antibiotic paste (DAP), minocycline and calcium hydroxide and their influence on cytokine mRNA expression levels on human periodontal ligament (HPDL) fibroblasts.MethodologyTriple antibiotic paste, DAP and Ca(OH)2 test samples were immersed in culture medium and ...

Efficacy of various irrigation protocols on the removal of triple antibiotic paste
International Endodontic Journal, 2013AbstractAimTo compare the efficacy of irrigation protocols on the removal of triple antibiotic paste (metronidazole, ciprofloxacin and minocycline) (TAP) from artificial grooves in root canals.MethodologyRoot canals in 72 extracted single‐rooted teeth were prepared using ProTaper rotary instruments up to size F5. The roots were split longitudinally and

Use of triple antibiotic paste in the treatment of large periradicular lesions
Journal of Investigative and Clinical Dentistry, 2011AbstractMicroorganisms are the possible source of endodontic lesions. The polymicrobial infection makes the sterilization of the root canal difficult. The following case report describes the non‐surgical endodontic treatment of teeth with a large periradicular lesion. First, an intracanal dressing of calcium hydroxide was given.

Human root dentin microhardness and degradation by triple antibiotic paste and calcium hydroxide.
American journal of dentistry, 2022To investigate and compare the effects of the two widely used regenerative endodontics medicaments: Triple antibiotic paste (ciprofloxacine-metronidazole-clindamycin) and calcium hydroxide on the microhardness and degradation of human root dentin.Following ethical approval and subject consent to use teeth in this research study, 60 singled-rooted ...

Role of Triple Antibiotic Paste in Regenerative Endodontics
JOURNAL OF HEALTHCARE SCIENCESTriple Antibiotic Paste (TAP), a combination of ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, and minocycline, plays a pivotal role in regenerative endodontics by providing effective antimicrobial action and creating an environment conducive to tissue regeneration. Its broad-spectrum activity targets diverse microbial populations, including biofilms, within the root ...

Cytotoxicity of Novel Polymeric Gel Matrix Triple Antibiotic Paste—an In Vitro Study
Regenerative Engineering and Translational Medicine, 2020The study evaluated the in vitro cytotoxicity profile of a novel polymeric gel matrix triple antibiotic paste. The novel polymeric gel matrix triple antibiotic paste (TAOP) was formulated as thermo-modulated in situ hydrogel, by blending chitosan-carbopol and poloxamer gels with clindamycin (5%), metronidazole (5%), and doxycycline (1%).

Nonsurgical healing of large periradicular lesions using a triple antibiotic paste
Indian Journal of Oral Sciences, 2014The success of the endodontic treatment depends on the microbial suppression in the root canal and periapical region. The infection of the root canal system is considered to be a polymicrobial in nature. Because of the complexity of the root canal infection, it is unlikely that any single antibiotic could result in effective sterilization of the canal.

Comparison of Calcium Hydroxidea and Triple Antibiotic Paste on Inter-Appointment Endodontic Pain
Pakistan Journal of Medical and Health Sciences, 2023Background: Endodontic pain is related to inflammatory reactions in the tissues correlated to the damage, and the nature of damage. Inter-appointment pain is correlated to the instrumentation, irrigation and all the other procedures done during appointments. Triple antibiotic paste can be more effective intacanal medicament than calcium hydroxide.
