Analysis of symmetric-varactor-frequency triplers
1993 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002A simple analytical model for varactors that have a symmetric capacitance-voltage characteristic is introduced. This empirical but general model can be used to represent the reactance nonlinearity of quantum-barrier varactors, symmetric high-electron-mobility varactors, and back-to-back barrier-n-n/sup +/ diodes.

The design of a 0.33 THz frequency tripler
2016 IEEE 9th UK-Europe-China Workshop on Millimetre Waves and Terahertz Technologies (UCMMT), 2016In this paper, we use suspended microstrip to design a 0.33 THz fequency tripler, in which a pair of Schottky varactor chips parallel is adopted. Considering the present processing technology, it's easy for the unbalanced structure to provide bias to the diodes without an on-chip capacitor, which is essential to the balanced tripler scheme. The tripler

Substrate integrated waveguide balanced tripler
2011 International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Control (ICECC), 2011Frequency translation circuits are key elements in communication systems. This paper presents a frequency balanced tripler for 12.6 GHz satellite communication systems, focusing on the advantages of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. The successful first iteration SIW balanced tripler achieved a state-of-the-art output power of 20.75 dBm ...

Design of a 340GHz balanced frequency tripler
2015 IEEE International Conference on Communication Problem-Solving (ICCP), 2015We present a design of balanced configuration frequency tripler based on planar schottky varactor diodes and mounted on a 0.03mm thickness quartz_glass substrate. The Zero-Biased balanced configuration is adopted to simplify the circuit structure and easy assembly, The simulated results shows that the best conversion loss is 11.527dB at 338.4GHz when ...

Harmonic analysis of the magnetic frequency tripler
IEEE Transactions on Communication and Electronics, 1963A magnetic frequency tripler is a nonlinear magnetic system which is used for the production of triple-frequency output from a 3-phase fundamental frequency source. Although triplers have been used extensively for certain applications, the design of these devices has until now been largely empirical. Earlier papers1,2 have presented limited analyses of

Synthesis of active microwave frequency triplers
Proceedings of the 43rd IEEE Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat.No.CH37144), 2002After a brief discussion of active multiplier realizations, the authors focus on the synthesis of bipolar microwave frequency doublers in several topologies. The synthesis is outlined in four fundamental steps which encompass embedding network synthesis, device selection, bias optimization, and drive power determination.

A novel technique for HEMT tripler design
1996 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002The effect of fundamental loading on HEMT tripler performance has been investigated. An 11.5 to 34.5 GHz HEMT tripler has been fabricated employing a novel design technique with fundamental rejection feedback. The experimental results show good agreement with the harmonic balance simulations.

Additional Losses in Frequency Tripler Windings
1988Magnetic frequency triplers under construction have mega-Watt outputs1 and accurate determination of their winding losses is essential. Methods established for rotating machines and transformers2,4,5 are inadequate for frequency multipliers which have highly distorted primary current and higher frequency output current.

Tripler pioneers telemedicine across the Pacific.
Hawaii medical journal, 1994Between January and August 1993, 59 medical teleconsultations were conducted successfully between the video teleconference center at Tripler Army Medical Center on Oahu and the video teleconference center on Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. This pioneer effort in the Pacific connected 2 archipeligoes separated by more than 2,200

High-Efficiency Terahertz Frequency Triplers
2007 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2007Design and experimental analysis of high-power and high-efficiency frequency triplers to the 220 GHz and 440 GHz bands are presented. Test data for the 220 GHz tripler show 23 mW output power with 16% efficiency. Test data for the 440 GHz tripler show 13 mW output power with 12% efficiency. The 3 dB bandwidth for both triplers is about 7%.
