The sterile triploid crucian carp (TC) has growth superiority which is generated from crossing between diploid red crucian carp (Carassius carassius red var. ♀) (RC) and tetraploid hybrid linage [derived from RC (♀) × common carp (Cyprinus carpio, ♂) (CC)

The Complete Mitochondrial Genome of a Natural Triploid Crucian Carp Mutant, Carassius auratus var. suogu, and Its Phylogenetic Analysis [PDF]
Carassius auratus var. suogu, an endemic fish in southern China, is a natural triploid crucian carp mutant. In this study, the characteristics of mitochondrial DNA sequences were analyzed to understand their taxonomic status and genetic background at the

Triploid breeding is vital in aquaculture production. Here, based on the formation of all-female gynogenetic homologous diploid crucian carp (G, 2 n = 100) derived from gynogenesis of the autotetraploid crucian carp (4nRR, 4 n = 200) eggs and without ...

Genetic Identification on Natural Population of Triploid Crucian Carp, Carassius auraus in Korea
Natural clonal stock of triploid crucian carp, Carassius aurahs was identified and its cytogenetic, molecular genetic and morphological traits were studied. Cytogenetic analysis of the clonal crucian carp revealed that they were natural triploidy, evidenced by 1.5-fold increases of cell size, DNA content, and chromosome number.

Expression and localization of HPG axis-related genes in Carassius auratus with different ploidy [PDF]
IntroductionIn the Dongting water system, the Carassius auratus (Crucian carp) complex is characterized by the coexistence of diploid forms (2n=100, 2nCC) and polyploidy forms.

Based on the allodiploid lineage (WR, 2n = 100, F1–F5) of white crucian carp (Carassius cuvieri, WCC, 2n = 100) (♀) × red crucian carp (Carassius auratus red var., RCC, 2n = 100) (♂) and the diploid hybrid fish (WR-II, 2n = 100) derived from WR-

Natural Hybridization between Diploid Crucian Carp Species and Genetic Independence of Triploid Crucian Carp Elucidated by DNA Markers. [PDF]
The population structure of genus Carassius in Lake Koyama, southeast Japan, was analyzed by genetic markers as microsatellite DNA, mtDNA RFLP and isozymes. Based on the ploidy level and morphological analysis, four Carassius groups were detected. The triploid group was identified as Ginbuna (C. langsdorfii). In the diploid group, Nagabuna (C. burugeri
