A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Gluing Karcher–Scherk saddle towers I: Triply periodic minimal surfaces

open access: yesJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal)
Abstract We construct minimal surfaces by gluing singly periodic Karcher–Scherk saddle towers along their wings. Such constructions were previously implemented assuming a horizontal reflection plane. We break this symmetry by prescribing phase differences between the saddle towers.

Synthesis of a Novel Thermoresponsive S53P4 Bioactive Glass Extract–Poloxamer 407 Injectable Hydrogels: Assessment of Biocompatibility and Antimicrobial Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates innovative thermoreversible hydrogels derived from S53P4 bioactive glass extracts to aid in the healing of infected diabetic foot wounds. These injectable gels, which gel at body temperature, release beneficial ions and remain stable over time.

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Parametric polynomial minimal surfaces of arbitrary degree [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Weierstrass representation is a classical parameterization of minimal surfaces. However, two functions should be specified to construct the parametric form in Weierestrass representation.

Geometry of the momentum space: From wire networks to quivers and monopoles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A new nano--material in the form of a double gyroid has motivated us to study (non-commutative $C^*$ geometry of periodic wire networks and the associated graph Hamiltonians.

Multifunctional Crushing and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Conductive Epoxy/CNT‐Coated Polyetherimide TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

A reducibility for a triply periodic minimal surface

open access: yesAdvanced Studies in Pure Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we define a reducibility for a triply periodic minimal surface, and study hyperelliptic minimal surfaces and trigonal minimal surfaces in terms of the reducibility. Restrictions on the topological type of the above minimal surfaces are given.
