Turbulent Flow Heat Transfer and Thermal Stress Improvement of Gas Turbine Blade Trailing Edge Cooling with Diamond-Type TPMS Structure

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
Additive manufacturing allows the fabrication of relatively complex cooling structures, such as triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS), which offers high heat transfer per unit volume.

Stress response and structural transitions in sheared gyroidal and lamellar amphiphilic mesophases: lattice-Boltzmann simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report on the stress response of gyroidal and lamellar amphiphilic mesophases to steady shear simulated using a bottom-up lattice-Boltzmann model for amphiphilic fluids and sliding periodic (Lees-Edwards) boundary conditions.

A voxel-based method of multiscale mechanical property optimization for the design of graded TPMS structures

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2021
Functionally graded triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures are characterized by their various structures and mechanical properties, thereby exhibiting better mechanical performance than uniform structures.

Improving the thermal response flexibility of 2- and 3-phase composite phase change materials by metallic triply periodic minimal surface structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The percolation of organic Phase Change Materials (PCMs) into metallic skeletons produces Composite PCMs (C-PCMs). This paper explores Al-Si-Mg alloy Sheet-based Primitive-Schwarz (PS) Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) C-PCMs filled by paraffines ...

Extreme mechanical resilience of self-assembled nanolabyrinthine materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Low-density materials with tailorable properties have attracted attention for decades, yet stiff materials that can resiliently tolerate extreme forces and deformation while being manufactured at large scales have remained a rare find.

Chamfer distance for non-linear registration of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface lattices

open access: yesAdditive Manufacturing Letters
We present a 3D image registration technique for non-linear deformation estimation in Additive Manufacturing processes. The methodology involves comparing X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT) data with Computer Aided Design (CAD) models for Triply Periodic ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
