Classification of zero mean curvature surfaces of separable type in Lorentz-Minkowski space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Consider the Lorentz-Minkowski $3$-space $\mathbb{L}^3$ with the metric $dx^2+dy^2-dz^2$ in canonical coordinates $(x,y,z)$. A surface in $\mathbb{L}^3$ is said to be separable if satisfies an equation of the form $f(x)+g(y)+h(z)=0$ for some smooth ...

Triply periodic minimal surfaces bounded by vertical symmetry planes [PDF]

open access: yesmanuscripta mathematica, 2008
We give a uniform and elementary treatment of many classical and new triply periodic minimal surfaces in Euclidean space, based on a Schwarz-Christoffel formula for periodic polygons in the plane. Our surfaces share the property that vertical symmetry planes cut them into simply connected pieces.

Structure-property relationships of imperfect additively manufactured lattices based on triply periodic minimal surfaces

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
Lattices based on triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) have recently attracted increasing interest, but their additive manufacturing (AM) is fraught with imperfections that compromise their structural integrity.

Mechanical properties of 3D printed polymeric Gyroid cellular structures: Experimental and finite element study

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
Gyroid is a member of the triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) family. In this paper, the mechanical properties of Gyroid-structures are investigated both experimentally and computationally.

Mechanical and biological properties of enhanced porous scaffolds based on triply periodic minimal surfaces

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) - based porous structures have been universally adopted for mimicking the properties of bone scaffolds due to their interconnected geometries with smooth surfaces and controllable pores.

Triply periodic minimal and constant mean curvature surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesInterface Focus, 2012
We want to summarize some established results on periodic surfaces which are minimal or have constant mean curvature, along with some recent results. We will do this from a mathematical point of view with a general readership in mind.

Two new embedded triply periodic minimal surfaces of genus 4 [PDF]

open access: yesmanuscripta mathematica, 2020
We add two new 1-parameter families to the short list of known embedded triply periodic minimal surfaces of genus 4 in $\mathbb{R}^3$. Both surfaces can be tiled by minimal pentagons with two straight segments and three planar symmetry curves as boundary.

Stability of bicontinuous cubic phases in ternary amphiphilic systems with spontaneous curvature [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We study the phase behavior of ternary amphiphilic systems in the framework of a curvature model with non-vanishing spontaneous curvature. The amphiphilic monolayers can arrange in different ways to form micellar, hexagonal, lamellar and various ...

On hybrid cellular materials based on triply periodic minimal surfaces with extreme mechanical properties

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
The physical and mechanical properties of cellular materials not only depend on the constituent materials but also on the microstructures. Here we show that, when the cellular materials are constructed by self-repeated representative volume elements ...

An orthorhombic deformation family of Schwarz' H surfaces

open access: yes, 2020
The classical H surfaces of H. A. Schwarz form a 1-parameter family of triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) that are usually described as close relatives to his more famous P surface. However, a crucial distinction between these surfaces is that the P
