Design of bone-like continuous gradient porous scaffold based on triply periodic minimal surfaces

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
In this work, we designed a new bone-like scaffold with a continuous porosity gradient change based on minimal surfaces. Three minimal surface structures (P (Primitive), G (Gyroid), and D (Diamond)) were chosen to design the scaffolds, and the scaffolds ...

Investigation of the Specific Energy Absorption of Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces Subjected to Impact Loading [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) have attracted tremendous research interest due to their lightweight and superior mechanical properties. In this study, two TPMS sheet-based structures (FRD and Neovius) are designed, fabricated, and tested under ...

Triply periodic minimal surfaces bounded by vertical symmetry planes [PDF]

open access: yesmanuscripta mathematica, 2008
We give a uniform and elementary treatment of many classical and new triply periodic minimal surfaces in Euclidean space, based on a Schwarz-Christoffel formula for periodic polygons in the plane. Our surfaces share the property that vertical symmetry planes cut them into simply connected pieces.

Structure-property relationships of imperfect additively manufactured lattices based on triply periodic minimal surfaces

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
Lattices based on triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) have recently attracted increasing interest, but their additive manufacturing (AM) is fraught with imperfections that compromise their structural integrity.

Classification of zero mean curvature surfaces of separable type in Lorentz-Minkowski space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Consider the Lorentz-Minkowski $3$-space $\mathbb{L}^3$ with the metric $dx^2+dy^2-dz^2$ in canonical coordinates $(x,y,z)$. A surface in $\mathbb{L}^3$ is said to be separable if satisfies an equation of the form $f(x)+g(y)+h(z)=0$ for some smooth ...

Mechanical properties of 3D printed polymeric Gyroid cellular structures: Experimental and finite element study

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2019
Gyroid is a member of the triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS) family. In this paper, the mechanical properties of Gyroid-structures are investigated both experimentally and computationally.

Computational based investigation of lattice cell optimization under uniaxial compression load

open access: yesResults in Materials, 2022
Structural optimization is a methodology used to generate novel structures within a design space by finding a maximum or minimum point within a set of constraints.

Triply periodic minimal and constant mean curvature surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesInterface Focus, 2012
We want to summarize some established results on periodic surfaces which are minimal or have constant mean curvature, along with some recent results. We will do this from a mathematical point of view with a general readership in mind.

Two new embedded triply periodic minimal surfaces of genus 4 [PDF]

open access: yesmanuscripta mathematica, 2020
We add two new 1-parameter families to the short list of known embedded triply periodic minimal surfaces of genus 4 in $\mathbb{R}^3$. Both surfaces can be tiled by minimal pentagons with two straight segments and three planar symmetry curves as boundary.

The design of strut/TPMS-based pore geometries in bioceramic scaffolds guiding osteogenesis and angiogenesis in bone regeneration

open access: yesMaterials Today Bio, 2023
The pore morphology design of bioceramic scaffolds plays a substantial role in the induction of bone regeneration. Specifically, the effects of different scaffold pore geometry designs on angiogenesis and new bone regeneration remain unclear.
