In Search of the Genes of Asthma on the Island of Tristan da Cunha
Asthma, like several common diseases such as diabetes and atherosclerosis, occurs in families and thus probably has a complex polygenic basis, in which environmental factors also play a role. In trying to elucidate the genetic mechanism, studies of communities characterized by a high level of interbreeding and a high prevalence of asthma should be ...

The development of a new OMP 2023 for Tristan da Cunha island rock lobster (Jasus tristani) resource
Results for three candidate OMPs to be considered in the development of a new OMP (OMP-2023) for the Tristan rock lobster resource are reported. All three CMPs show that the lower 5th percentile of spawning biomass in 2033 relative to pristine are well ...

Recommendations on rock lobster TACs for Tristan and Nightingale Islands for the 2021/22 season
OMPs are the agreed basis to recommend rock lobster TACs for all four islands of the Tristan da Cunha Group. The application of these OMPs using the most recent CPUE and survey data for input result in the following TAC recommendations for Tristan and Nightingale. The OMP for Tristan recommends a TAC for 2021 at 120 MT (2020 TAC 120 MT).

Recommendations on rock lobster TACs for the Tristan group of islands for the 2013/14 season.
As a result of the increased workload placed on MARAM because of the OLIVA incident, OMP development for all four islands has not been achieved in time for the 2013 TAC setting process. OMP development has focused first on the Tristan island. This has precluded updated assessments for the Inaccessible and Gough islands being completed by this time, as ...
