RECOMMENDATIONS ON ROCK LOBSTER TACs FOR THE TRISTAN GROUP OF ISLANDS FOR THE 2017/18 SEASON

2017
OMPs have recently been accepted as the basis to recommend TACs for Tristan, Inaccessible and Gough islands. Given that for Inaccessible and Gough the recent catch rates continue to be above the associated OMP’s target catch rate, the OMPs indicate increases to the TACs for both islands for the 2016 season: Inaccessible: 81 MT to 85 MT Gough: 110 MT to

RECOMMENDATIONS ON ROCK LOBSTER TACs FOR THE TRISTAN GROUP OF ISLANDS FOR THE 2018/191 SEASON

2018
OMPs have recently been accepted as the basis to recommend rock lobster TACs for all four islands of the Tristan da Cunha Group. The application of these OMPs together with the most recent standardized CPUE data result in the following TACs. The OMP for Tristan sets the TAC for 2018 at 120 MT. The OMP for Nightingale sets the TAC for 2018 at 83 MT. The

Estimates of sustainable rock lobster yield for the four islands of the Tristan da Cunha group

2008
The data sources upon which to assess the rock lobster resources of the islands of the Tristan da Cunha group are very limited, with original records against which to check available essentially for the last decade only (Edwards, 2007), so that it is only over this period that data can be used with some confidence. At this stage, these amount to annual

Recommendations on rock lobster TAC's for the Tristan group of islands for the 2012/13 season

2012
Based on a similar approach as used last year, but updated to take account of recent decisions about the probable impact of the OLIVA incident on the resources at Nightingale and Inaccessible, TACs have been calculated for all four islands which aim to achieve and maintain CPUE at the levels that would have applied in 2011 had it not been for the Oliva

Updated 2012 rock lobster assessments of the Tristan da Cunha group of islands

2012
This paper provides updated assessments of the rock lobster resources at the four islands of the Tristan da Cunha group, now incorporating two further years of data. Abundances at all four islands are estimated to be high (Bsp/K estimates in the range 0.75 to 0.89 for 2012), though these results assume no impact from the Oliva incident.
