Triterpene Biosynthesis in Plants
Annual Review of Plant Biology, 2014The triterpenes are one of the most numerous and diverse groups of plant natural products. They are complex molecules that are, for the most part, beyond the reach of chemical synthesis. Simple triterpenes are components of surface waxes and specialized membranes and may potentially act as signaling molecules, whereas complex glycosylated triterpenes ...

Triterpenes and triterpene glycosides from Paradrymonia macrophylla
Phytochemistry, 1996Abstract Seven pentacyclic triterpenes and triterpene glycosides have been isolated from the stems and roots of Paradrymonia macrophylla and their structures elucidated by means of 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Three of them are described for the first time as natural products, namely: 2α,3β,19α-trihydroxy-24-oxo-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (24-epi ...

A Reinvestigation of Maprounea Triterpenes
Journal of Natural Products, 1995Anti-HIV activity and the inhibition of phorbol ester receptor binding activity in two species of Maprounea were traced to small amounts of highly potent phorbol esters of the daphnane type. The triterpenes previously isolated from this genus were found to be devoid of biological activity when scrupulously purified.

The potential of click reactions for the synthesis of bioactive triterpenes.
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2019Click reactions between alkynes and azides using the privileged scaffold of triterpenes have been of interest for biological chemistry. Many publications deal with the synthesis of novel bioactive molecules; these conjugates have also been used for ...

Triterpenes and triterpene glycosides from the leaves of Ilex rotunda
Phytochemistry, 1993Abstract Two new triterpenes, ilexolic acid A and B, and seven new saponins, ilexosides XXXIII–XXXIX, together with the known saponin rotungenoside were isolated from the fresh leaves of Ilex rotunda , and their structures elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence.
