Standardization of tritiated water by two improved methods

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2006
Tritiated water has been standardized in the framework of a French-Romanian cooperation by two improved methods: liquid scintillation counting based on the triple to double coincidence ratio method and the internal gas proportional counting used in conjunction with a tritium generator for chemical reduction of water.

Comparative metabolism of tritiated water by macropodid marsupials

American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1975
The total body-water content (TBW) and rate of water turnover were measured usingtritiated water in five species of macropodod marsupials (kangaroos), which ranged in weight from 1 to 50 kg. Animals fitted with rumen cannulas were used to estimate the time required for tritiated water to equilibrate within the body of large kangaroos.

The alkaline hydrolysis of S-adenosylmethionine in tritiated water

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1962
A mechanism for alkaline hydrolysis of S-adenosylmethionine suggested by Frank et al in which an ethylenic intermediate with the double bond at carbon atoms 4 and 5 of the ribose was confirmed with experiments in tritiated water.

A personal discriminating monitor for tritiated water vapor

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2000
Abstract A personal monitor for tritiated vapor in air based on scintillation is being developed by the Polytechnic of Milan and JRC of Ispra. A thin hygroscopic salt layer has been laid on the flat surface of a solid scintillator mounted inside the monitor. A small pump continuously supplies the monitor with filtered air samples taken from the room.

TRITIATED WATER REDUCTION OVER St737

1993
The feasibility of reducing HTO over the alloy St737 has been studied for alloy temperatures ranging from 300 to 600°C, for bed residence times ranging from 0.36 to 2.4 seconds and for water partial pressures ranging from 28 to 312 mbar in an argon carrier at 101 kPa.

Tritiated Water as a Tool for Ecological Field Studies

Science, 1965
Tritium was used to investigate the withdrawal by small trees of water from soil at three depths. Within 4 hours of placement at each depth, tritium was detected in the transpired water from nearby trees. On the 3rd day after application, 38 times more tritium (per unit volume) was present in transpired water drawn from soil at a depth of 0 to 30.5 ...

Vapour Pressure of Tritiated Water

Nature, 1958
A SURVEY of the literature for the vapour pressure of hydrogen tritium oxide (HTO) revealed one reference only1. No values were quoted for the vapour pressure at any temperature, but the authors stated the boiling point of tritiated water was less than that of ordinary water.

Preparation of tritiated thymidine with high labelling yield via tritiated water

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1995
(6-3H)-Thymidine, (5-3H)-methyl-thymidine, and (5′-3H)-thymidine were synthesized by the use of tritiated water. The specific activities of the products were 3.3, 3.4 and 3.0 mCi/mM, respectively. These tritiated thymidines are important tracers to study human lymphocytes and human chromosomes.
