Methods in molecular biology (Clifton, N.J.), 2006
This chapter describes a procedure for Agrobacterium-mediated wheat transformation. Freshly isolated immature embryos, precultured immature embryos, or embryogenic calli are inoculated with a disarmed A. tumefaciens strain C58 (ABI) harboring the binary vector pMON18365 containing the beta-glucuronidase (GUS) gene with an intron, and a selectable ...

Histogenesis of the Carpel in Triticum aestivum L.
Botanical Gazette, 1972In its initiation and early histogenesis, the gynoecium in Triticum aestivum L. is essentially similar to a single foliage leaf and does not reveal ontogenetically the tricarpellate condition generally postulated for it. The two integuments are also leaflike in origin.

Evaluation of Branched Ear Derivatives of Triticum aestivum L.
1977The branched spikes of Triticum turgidum L. have a potential of producing a high number of kernels. Some of the selected lines of T. turgidum yielded up to 150 kernels per spike as compared to 60--70 kernels per spike in the common wheat cultivar Chenab-70. The best of these lines were crossed with the common wheats Chenab-70, Mexipak, and C-271. Among

Doubled haploid (DH) bread wheat (Triticum aestivum (L.) em Thell) lines obtained via wheat x maize method (MP) and their parents were evaluated. The experiment was carried out on the University Farm for two years. The seeds that had been produced after emasculation and pollination with sweet corn pollen on 5 F1 wheat hybrids were multiplied during the

Aims. Tubulin-Based-Polimorphism (TBP) was originally introduced as a novel method for assaying genetic diversity in plants. In this connection, testing of this method in genetic research of cereals like as local wheat and barley varieties is very necessary. Methods.

The effect of short-term heat (2 h, +40 ??C), cold (2 h, +2 ??C) and combined temperature stresses on the level of cytokinin (CK) in roots and leaves of 7- and 14-day-old seedlings of Triticum aestivum L. variety Yatran 60 was investigated.

B Chromosomes in Wheat, Triticum aestivum L.
Nature, 1964FOR many years accessory or B chromosomes have been found in many species both in animals and plants. Among cultivated plants certain important species such as maize and rye have accessory chromosomes; but so far the presence of such chromosomes in wheat has not been reported.
