Hazards of exposure to tritium and tritium oxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 1954
Experimental data pertinent to the evaluation of hazards involved in the exposure of personnel to tritium and tritium oxide are reviewed. Conclusions are drawn and recommendations made with regard to the control of these hazards. (auth)

Thermodynamic Functions for Tritium and Tritium Hydride. The Equilibrium of Tritium and Hydrogen with Tritium Hydride. The Dissociation of Tritium and Tritium Hydride

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1948
The heat capacity, entropy, internal energy, and free energy are calculated to 2500°C for tritium and tritium hydride. The distribution of tritium between the ortho and para states is considered. The equilibrium constant for the formation of tritium hydride from hydrogen and tritium is calculated from 50°K to 2500°K.

Fusion energy-production from a deuterium-tritium plasma in the jet tokamak [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Describes a series of experiments in the Joint European Torus (JET), culminating in the first tokamak discharges in deuterium-tritium fuelled mixture. The experiments were undertaken within limits imposed by restrictions on vessel activation and tritium ...

Landside tritium leakage over through years from Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant and relationship between countermeasures and contaminated water

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
There has been tritium groundwater leakage to the land side of Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plants since 2013. Groundwater was continuously collected from the end of 2013 to 2019, with an average tritium concentration of approximately 20 Bq/L.

Numerical simulation of high-pressure tritium leakage based on AN-EOS model

open access: yesHe jishu, 2022
BackgroundTritium leakage is a typical nuclear accident scene, which is harmful to human and environment. Therefore, numerical simulation of tritium leakage is of significance to nuclear accident emergency decision making.PurposeThis study aims at the ...

First operation of the KATRIN experiment with tritium [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2019
The determination of the neutrino mass is one of the major challenges in astroparticle physics today. Direct neutrino mass experiments, based solely on the kinematics of $$\upbeta $$ β -decay, provide a largely model-independent probe to the neutrino ...

On the microstructure evolution of AA6061 with pulsed laser powder bed fusion

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters
This study uncovers new opportunities for microstructure engineering of AA6061 using pulsed lasers in powder bed fusion. Experimental analysis reveals that pulsed lasers allow for extensive control of grain sizes.

Differences into HT and HTO concentrations in air into the Western Mediterranean Basin and Continental Europe and Safety Related Issues.

open access: yes, 2011
Real time Tritium concentrations in air in two chemical forms, HT and HTO, coming from an ITER-like fusion reactor as source were coupled the European Centre Medium Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) numerical model with the Lagrangian Atmospheric-particle ...

Calibration of a transient transport model to tritium data in streams and simulation of groundwater ages in the western Lake Taupo catchment, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2013
Here we present a general approach of calibrating transient transport models to tritium concentrations in river waters developed for the MT3DMS/MODFLOW model of the western Lake Taupo catchment, New Zealand.

An Advanced Optimization Method to Minimize the Detection Limit of Liquid Scintillation Counter to Measure Low-Level Tritium Activity in Groundwater

open access: yesRadiation, 2023
In arid regions, the tritium concentration in groundwater is typically very low and often falls below the minimum detectable activity (MDA) of the conventional liquid scintillation counter (LSC).
