The energy profile of H from tetrahedral to a nearby tetrahedral void is changed with changes in Cr content. The diffusion coefficients of H are also found to vary with variation in the Cr content in the Fe–Cr alloy. These changes in energy and diffusion are due to the altered electronic interaction of hydrogen within the alloy matrix with varying Cr ...

Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Three 1‐D unsaturated zone models (HYDRUS‐1D with isotope fractionation) were calibrated with volumetric water content (θ) alone versus θ and δ18O δ2H from soil water. Adding isotopes constrains the parameter spaces and reproduces isotope profiles despite θ extremes, and reveals heterogeneous recharge in semi‐arid Tamil Nadu, South India.

Short high-accuracy tritium data time series for assessing groundwater mean transit times in the vadose and saturated zones of the Luxembourg Sandstone aquifer [PDF]
Among the manifold of environmental tracers at hand, tritium is the only one that can give information on groundwater age within the timescale of 100 years for the entire flow system, i.e., unsaturated and saturated.

Tritium permeability measurement in hydrogen-tritium system
Abstract Understanding of thermodynamic equilibria of multi-components hydrogen isotopes is required to accurately measure tritium permeability at the expected low tritium partial pressure and non-negligible high hydrogen partial pressure in a fusion blanket system.
