Simulation of Tritium Behavior after Intended Tritium Release in Ventilated Room [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 2001
At the Tritium Process Laboratory (TPL) at the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI), Caisson Assembly for Tritium Safety study (CATS) with 12 m3 of large airtight vessel (Caisson) was fabricated for confirmation and enhancement of fusion reactor safety to estimate tritium behavior in the case where a tritium leak event should happen.

Sudden To Adiabatic Transition in Beta Decay [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss effects in beta decays at very low beta energies, of the order of the kinetic energies of atomic electrons. As the beta energy is lowered the atomic response changes from sudden to adiabatic.

Response of an Infant With Presumed Multiple Acyl‐CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MADD) to Ketone Supplementation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multiple Acyl‐CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MADD) is an autosomal recessive inborn error of metabolism caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in one of three known genes: ETFA, ETFB, and ETFDH. It can cause multisystem dysfunction, including cardiomyopathy in severe cases.

Tritium Release Behavior from SS316 under Vacuum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The release behavior of tritium from stainless steel 316 previously loaded with tritium gas was investigated isothermally under an argon gas flow or under vacuum conditions. Depth profiles of the heated specimens were determined by chemical etching.

Recommended tritium surface contamination release guides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
This document was prepared to provide scientific basis for recommended changes in specific limits for tritium surface contamination in DOE Order 5480.11. A summary of the physical and biological characteristics of tritium has been provided that illustrate the unique nature of this radionuclide when compared to other pure beta emitters or to beta-gamma ...

Effects of Helium Pre-Irradiation on Tritium Release from Thin Boron Film Deposited on Stainless Steel type 316 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The effects of helium pre-irradiation on trapping and release behavior of tritium implanted into thin boron films deposited on a plate of stainless steel type S316 were examined by an isothermal heating method and β-ray-induced spectrometry (BIXS).

Amino-terminal cysteine residues of RGS16 are required for palmitoylation and modulation of G(i)- and G(q)-mediated signaling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
RGS proteins (Regulators of G protein Signaling) are a recently discovered family of proteins that accelerate the GTPase activity of heterotrimeric G protein α subunits of the i, q, and 12 classes.
