Cave drip rate monitoring in Nova Grgosova Cave reveals three types of drip sites: (1) predominantly constant, (2) seasonally varying and (3) mostly constant with occasional sharp increases. The observational data coupled with one‐dimensional water‐balance model demonstrates that evapotranspiration and soil–epikarst storage, rather than precipitation ...

ABSTRACT Instrumental characterisation of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs), responsible for off‐aroma, is mainly centred on gas chromatography‐based techniques. Despite previous reviews that have addressed the chemical compounds and biosynthetic pathways of off‐aroma generation, to date, there is a lack of a comprehensive review that critically ...

Investigation of tritium release and retention in lithium aluminate [PDF]
Tritium release from lithium aluminate, although previously investigated by both in-reactor and ex-reactor experiments, remains poorly understood. Agreement between experiments is lacking, and the mechanisms responsible for tritium release from lithium ...

Atomically Thin Sn:GaN‐GaN Homojunction for High‐Sensitivity β‐Ray Detection
ABSTRACT Gallium nitride (GaN), a third‐generation wide‐bandgap semiconductor renowned for its superior radiation tolerance, holds promise for advanced β‐ray detection. Herein, a scalable liquid metal‐assisted in situ synthesis method is presented to fabricate Sn‐doped GaN homojunctions via gallium oxide printing followed by ammonolysis, enabling ...

Dose Delivered by Unit Amount of Tritium Released into the Environment [PDF]
Dose conversion values (DCV: Sv/kg-Tritium release) associated with a release of tritiated hydrogen (HT) to the atmosphere have been studied in the field experiment performed at Chalk River Laboratories in Canada in 1987. For a near ground-level release of HT, DCVs of 2×10−2 and 3×10−3 Sv/kg-Tritium were evaluated at distances of 100 and 400m on the ...

The hydrogen concentration and binding energies in large area graphene are determined from effusion measurements. The samples are grown using chemical vapor deposition using deuterated methane and deuterium as readily identifiable isotopes. Total hydrogen concentrations of 1.2 ‐ 6.9 × 1013 cm−2 are obtained.

Sources of tritium in natural-technogenic systems
The radioactive decay of tritium is caused by the β-decay of one of the two neutrons in the nucleus of the hydrogen isotope atom (triton) into a proton, electron, and electron antineutrino with the formation of a monatomic gas and a half-life of 12.33 ...

Calcium and Multi‐Isotope Constraints on Cation Exchange in Groundwater
Abstract Cation exchange is one of the most important processes in water‐rock interaction in the presence of clay minerals, with a common Ca‐Mg‐Na exchange system. However, systematic verification of Ca isotopes for tracing cation exchange in natural environments is lacking due to overlapping factors, such as dissolution‐precipitation of Ca‐minerals ...
