TRMM fire algorithm, product and applications
IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004The TRMM Science Data and Information System (TSDIS) fire algorithm is a contextual approach that uses the TRMM Visible Infrared Scanner (VIRS) thermal channel brightness temperature, visible/near-infrared channel reflectance, and global land type data to retrieve fire pixels.

Abstract The Precipitation Radar (PR) onboard the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite is the first spaceborne radar designed to measure the vertical structure of tropospheric precipitation. The PR, operating at 13.8 GHz, is a 128-element active phased array that allows fast and sophisticated cross-track scanning over a swath width of

TRMM precipitation radar algorithm
Proceedings of IGARSS '93 - IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2002The TRMM precipitation radar (PR) algorithms have been studied by the TRMM PR team. The radar products are classified and are shown according to the processing levels. The general processing structure suggests a primary division of radar algorithms into either deterministic or statistical techniques.

This paper briefly describes the initiation and development of the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) comparisons of the TRMM and TRMM Follow-On (TRMM F-O) features, and status of actions concerning the TRMM F-O. The TRMM follow on mission radar satellite is expected to be launched in 1997. >

An overview of CERES with TRMM and Terra
IGARSS 2000. IEEE 2000 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Taking the Pulse of the Planet: The Role of Remote Sensing in Managing the Environment. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37120), 2002Data for the investigation of Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES) began with the launch of the CERES instrument on the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) and continues with two CERES instrument on the EOS Terra satellite. The new instruments will sample regions poleward of the surface viewable from TRMM, and will thus place ...

Comparison of Pixel Based TRMM with Interpolation of TRMM Relative to Rain Gauge Data
2019Estimation of rainfall distribution has become a concern of many researchers to study about the best method to predict rainfall as input data to many other relative studies like one-dimensional hydrological modelling. Inaccurate prediction of rainfall may cause horrendous flood or severe drought to livelihoods in some regions.

Deep convection observed from split window of GOES and PR/TRMM, LIS/TRMM
IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004Deep convection over South America is investigated in terms of cloud type classified by the split window (11 and 12 /spl mu/m) using the hourly data of GOES, and rainfall by the PR (Precipitation Radar), and lightning activity by the LIS (Lightning Imaging Sensor) on board TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) as case studies.

Post-launch calibration of the TRMM microwave imager
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2001Three post-launch calibration methods are used to examine the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Microwave Imager (TMI) on-orbit performance. The first method is a statistical analysis of TMI ocean observations that reveals a systematic along-scan error.
