Next-generation sequencing yields the complete chloroplast genome of Abies kawakamii
Abies kawakamii is endemic to the island of Taiwan and has been listed as a threatened species in the Red List. In present study, we reported the complete chloroplast genome of A. kawakamii. The chloroplast genome is 121,290 bp in size.

Laser-engraved holograms as entropy source for random number generators
Our study introduces a novel approach to true random number generation (TRNG) using speckle patterns generated by laser-engraved holograms on carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite substrates.

On the Impact of Metastability in Jitter Based TRNG
Ring oscillator (RO)-based true random number generators (TRNGs) rely on phase noise to produce random bits. Certification standards, such as BSI AIS20/31 and NIST SP 800-90B, mandate or recommend, respectively, a stochastic model of the entropy source, typically incorporating thermal and optionally flicker noise contributions to phase noise.

True random number generation using the spin crossover in LaCoO3
While digital computers rely on software-generated pseudo-random number generators, hardware-based true random number generators (TRNGs), which employ the natural physics of the underlying hardware, provide true stochasticity, and power and area ...

Impact of the Flicker Noise on the Ring Oscillator-based TRNGs
Ring Oscillators (RO) are often used in true random number generators (TRNG). Their jittered clock signal, used as randomness source, originates from thermal and flicker noises.

Bias Variation Compensation in Perimeter-Gated SPAD TRNGs
Random number generators that utilize arrays of entropy source elements suffer from bias variation (BV). Despite the availability of efficient debiasing algorithms, optimized implementations of hardware friendly options depend on the bit bias in the raw bit streams and cannot accommodate a wide BV.
