A True Random Number Generator Design Based on the Triboelectric Nanogenerator with Multiple Entropy Sources

open access: yesMicromachines
The triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has the potential to serve as a high-entropy energy harvester, enabling the self-powered operation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

Museomic phylogenomics of Orthosiinae (Apocynaceae) integrating targeted sequencing and morphology

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Museum collections offer valuable resources for phylogenetic research, especially in taxonomically challenging groups. Here, we present a phylogenetic study of the South American Apocynaceae subtribe Orthosiinae, based on sequencing 835 nuclear genes and chloroplast genomes from ~120 species using a family‐specific probe set and multiple ...

High-Entropy STT-MTJ-Based TRNG

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 2019
Hardware true random number generators (TRNGs) yield random numbers from physical processes. Traditionally, such devices are based on statistically random events such as thermal noise or other quantum phenomena. In this brief, we propose a novel TRNG design using a spin-transfer torque magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) device.

Molecular investigation of the phylogenetic placement of Kartalinia and a revision of Bituminaria (Fabaceae: Psoraleeae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract The genus Kartalinia was described to accommodate a single, obscure species, Psoralea acaulis, based on its unique morphology and karyology. No concerted molecular phylogenetic studies were available for this species at the time, and therefore its phylogenetic position was uncertain.

Complete organellar genomes of Cystophora brownii: Insights into mitochondrial and plastid structure and evolution in brown algae

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, Volume 62, Issue 4, Page 1193-1203, August 2026.
Abstract Cystophora (order Fucales) is one of the most diverse genera of habitat‐forming brown algae and is endemic to temperate reefs of Australia and New Zealand. Species in this genus form complex habitat structures that support diverse marine communities and contribute to coastal productivity. However, Cystophora spp.

Three New Mitochondrial Genomes of Neritidae (Gastropoda, Neritimorpha) From China and Insights Into Their Phylogenetic Position

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study reports the newly assembled complete mitochondrial genomes for three neritid snails from China: Smaragdia rangiana, Neripteron pileolus, and Vittina cumingiana. Our phylogenetic analyses not only resolved their evolutionary positions within the established two‐subfamily framework but also identified several mislabeled public sequences ...

The Complete Mitogenome of the Estuarine Clam Potamocorbula amurensis (Corbulidae, Myida) and Its Implications for Phylogeny and Adaptation

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study reports the first complete mitogenome of the estuarine clam Potamocorbula amurensis, revealing its phylogenetic position as a sister group to the Myidae–Dreissenidae clade. Molecular dating indicates a Middle Jurassic divergence, and positive selection was detected in the nad5 gene, suggesting mitochondrial adaptations to osmotic stress in ...

Complete Chloroplast Genome of Cardamine microzyga and Phylogenetic Analysis

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study reports the first complete chloroplast genome of Cardamine microzyga, a perennial herb from mountainous southwestern China. The genome is 154,661 bp in length with a typical quadripartite structure and contains 129 genes. Comparative genomic analyses identified several hypervariable regions (e.g., trnS‐GCU, rrn4.5S, ycf1) as promising DNA ...
