Abstract Ozone has emerged as a promising technology for preserving stored grains and end products. Its efficiency as a biocide and the absence of residues make it an attractive alternative to traditional chemical methods of food preservation. This study reviews recent advancements in ozone application techniques, including continuous flow treatments ...

REPELLENT AND INSECTICIDAL ACTIVITY OF DERIVED PLANT OILS AGAINST SOME STORED GRAIN INSECTS [PDF]
Chemical composition of botanical oil garlic (Allium sativum) and chamomile (Matricaria camomela), its toxic and repellent activity were investigated against three stored product insects, Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.), Trogoderma granarium (Khapra ...

To attract mates, several coleopteran taxa release volatile sex pheromones via a behaviour termed calling. We studied a postulated calling behaviour in the seven‐spot ladybird Coccinella septempunctata L. for the first time. We also investigated the effects of immediate mating history and the presence of conspecifics on calling behaviour.

Study on comparison of biochemistry between Trogoderma granarium Everts and Trogoderma variabile Ballion [PDF]
Stored grains are paramount commodities to be preserved and stocked for future supply to the market according to the requirement. However, one of the major problems during storage is insect pests, of which insects from Trogoderma sp.

ABSTRACT Long‐lasting insecticide‐incorporated netting (LLIN) can intercept insects and has shown promise for pest management before and after harvest in agriculture. Understanding how to incorporate LLIN into existing integrated pest management (IPM) programs, with other commonly used tactics like residual contact insecticides, can significantly ...

Abstract The study aims to evaluate the behavioral and insecticidal effects of Ruta angustifolia EO (RAEO) against larvae and adults of a major pest insect, Tribolium castaneum. RAEO exhibited a strong repellency against both adults and larvae where percentages as high as 74 and 72 % of PR (Percentage of Repellency) were recorded respectively, at 0.47 ...
