Guidelines for Sample Preparation and Stable Isotope Analysis of Food for Traceability Studies

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
This workflow illustrates sample preparation and analysis steps in stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS) for food traceability. It emphasizes standardized preparation, encapsulation, calibration, and quality control to ensure accurate, comparable isotope data critical for verifying food origin and authenticity across complex supply chains ...

Toxic Metals in Dried Marine Fish and Implications for Human Health in Bangladesh and Exporting Countries

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
This study assessed toxic metals in five dried marine fish species from Bangladesh. Although most metals were within safe limits, chromium (Cr) consistently exceeded FAO/WHO standards, especially at Kuakata Beach. The findings highlight localized contamination hotspots and species‐specific bioaccumulation, while risk assessment supports the safety and ...

Projected Warming of the Southern Ocean Disrupts Embryonic Development and Hatch Timing in Antarctic Fish

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, EarlyView.
Embryos are particularly sensitive to thermal challenge. Antarctic fish embryos raised at projected Southern Ocean temperatures hatch during the winter, have a high incidence of morphological abnormalities, have shorter body lengths, and express genes indicative of cellular stress.

Algal Blooms in Lakes Increase After Wildfire Smoke Events in the Contiguous United States

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, EarlyView.
Temporary pulses of surface chlorophyll‐a are identified following wildfire smoke events in lakes and reservoirs across the United States. ABSTRACT Area burned by wildfire has increased in the contiguous United States and in many places globally in recent years, impacting communities and ecosystems nearby and even far downwind of fires. We examined the

Chatting Towards Inclusivity: A Digital Approach to Inclusion Action Plans and Leader Development

open access: yesHuman Resource Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inclusion is a cornerstone of success for organizations and society, yet inclusion is not guaranteed. Building on inclusive leadership research and relational models theory, we argue that inclusion cannot manifest without systematic effort and planning by leaders.

Cordycepin mediates neuroprotection against apoptosis via ERK/CREB signaling activation in Aβ1–42‐induced neuronal cell models

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 84-97, Spring 2025.
This study demonstrates cordycepin's neuroprotective effects against Aβ1–42‐induced apoptosis in neuronal cells, mediated through the activation of the extracellular signal‐regulated kinase/cyclic AMP‐responsive element‐binding protein (ERK/CREB) signaling pathway.
