Trophic State of LaFarge Reservoir
Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division, 1979A review is presented of three different methods used in analyzing the eutrophication potential of the Lake LaFarge Reservoir in Wisconsin. The trophic models examined include two computer models and one empirical model. The assumptions used in each model are described and the results of each modeling effort presented.

Trophic state assessment of Bhindawas Lake, Haryana, India
Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2016Trophic state allows for identification of problems and pressures that an ecosystem faces as well as demarcation of remedial measures. This study focuses on spatial and temporal variations in the trophic state and detection of possible causes of its divergence in Bhindawas Lake, India. The trophic state of the lake undulated between eutrophic and hyper-

TROPHIC STATE INDICES IN RESERVOIRS
Lake and Reservoir Management, 1984ABSTRACT Trophic state index systems provide a framework for data summary, interpretation, and communication. Carlson's indices can be viewed as reexpressions of bivariate regression analyses derived from phosphorus-limited, northern, natural lakes. Several studies have shown that lakes or reservoirs which are nitrogen limited and/or have relatively ...

Studies of ecological stoichiometry typically emphasize the role of interspecific variation in body elemental content and the effects of species or family identity. Recent work suggests substantial variation in body stoichiometry can also exist within species. The importance of this variation will depend on insights into its origins and consequences at

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2020
The relationships between nutrients and the trophic state of Borçka dam reservoir in the Çoruh River Basin, which is located in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey, were evaluated using the trophic state index (TSI), trophic level index (TLI), and statistical analysis.

A trophic state index for lakes1
Limnology and Oceanography, 1977A numerical trophic state index for lakes has been developed that incorporates most lakes in a scale of 0 to 100. Each major division (10, 20, 30, etc.) represents a doubling in algal biomass. The index number can be calculated from any of several parameters, including Secchi disk transparency, chlorophyll, and total phosphorus.

Trophic state, eutrophication and nutrient criteria in streams
Trends in Ecology & Evolution, 2007Trophic state is the property of energy availability to the food web and defines the foundation of community integrity and ecosystem function. Describing trophic state in streams requires a stoichiometric (nutrient ratio) approach because carbon input rates are linked to nitrogen and phosphorus supply rates. Light determines the source of carbon. Cross

The trophic state of shallow lakes in The Netherlands
Netherlands Journal of Aquatic Ecology, 1996A study has been carried out on the development of an ecological assessment method for shallow lakes in The Netherlands. Analyses of eutrophication characteristics of 93 lakes with, in total, 127 sampling localities gave insight into some of the steering variables, such as total-P, total-N, chlorophyll-a and transparency.

Trophic State in Canterbury Waterways
2011Aquatic eutrophication is a serious global problem, associated with phytoplankton blooms, hypoxia, and loss of species. The objective of this thesis was to advance understanding of stream and lake eutrophication within Canterbury (South Island, New Zealand).

Assessment of Trophic Status for Nansi Lake Using Trophic State Index and Phytoplankton Community
2010 4th International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering, 2010The present study was to investigate the trophic state of Nansi Lake, a shallow lake employed in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project in China. Based on water transparency, total phosphorus (TP) and chlorophyll a (chl a) concentration, the modified method of Carlson's trophic state index (TSIM) was applied to assess the lake's trophic status. The
