Understanding pre‐eclampsia and fetal growth restriction at high altitude: A narrative review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 174, Issue 1, Page 62-69, July 2026.
Abstract Pre‐eclampsia (PE) and fetal growth restriction (FGR) are among the leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Both conditions are more frequent and severe at high altitudes due to physiological changes in oxygen availability and vascular adaptation.

Interdisciplinary management of a viable term abdominal ectopic pregnancy

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Introduction Abdominal ectopic pregnancies are rare and associated with increased maternal morbidity and mortality. As the majority are diagnosed early in gestation, there are few reports of management of advanced abdominal ectopic pregnancies. Case A 41‐year‐old gravida 2 para 1 presented with fatigue and a known left ovarian cyst.

The transcriptional regulatory network modulating human trophoblast stem cells to extravillous trophoblast differentiation

open access: yes
During human pregnancy, extravillous trophoblasts play crucial roles in placental invasion into the maternal decidua and spiral artery remodeling.

Validation of a Pregnancy‐Associated Glycoprotein–Based Lateral Flow Assay for Early Pregnancy Detection in Goats

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
The commercial AOFPT developed to detect PAG molecules in bovine serum, was observed to be a rapid, practical, and effective method for early pregnancy diagnosis for to improve reproductive performance and herd management strategies in goats, especially following the post‐mating 28th day .

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 6, Page 1102-1114, June 2026.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) regulates trophoblast syncytialization through organelle stress–induced cellular senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 6, Page 1166-1180, June 2026.
The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
