Trophoblast stem cells differentiate in vitro into invasive trophoblast giant cells
Trophoblast cells are characterized by an invasive behavior into the surrounding uterine tissue. In rodents, an early peri-/endovascular type of invasion exerted by trophoblast giant cells can be distinguished from a late interstitial type carried out by glycogen trophoblast cells.

Mechanism of hsa_circ_0069443 promoting early pregnancy loss through ALKBH5/FN1 axis in trophoblast cells [PDF]
Summary: Studies have shown that circRNAs play an important regulatory role in trophoblast function and embryonic development. Based on sequencing and functional experiments, we found that hsa_circ_0069443 can regulate the function of trophoblast cells ...

Derivation of Mouse Haploid Trophoblast Stem Cells
Summary: Trophoblast stem (TS) cells are increasingly used as a model system for studying placentation and placental disorders. However, practical limitations of genetic manipulation have posed challenges for genetic analysis using TS cells.

12-Oxoeicosatetraenoic acid, a candidate signal for placenta separation, activates matrix metalloproteinase and induces apoptosis in bovine trophoblast cells [PDF]
Objective 12-oxo-5Z,8Z,10E,14Z-eicosatetraenoic acid (12-KETE), a metabolite of arachidonic acid, is a strong candidate signal for placenta separation following calf discharge at delivery.

(Dis)similarities between the Decidual and Tumor Microenvironment
Placenta-specific trophoblast and tumor cells exhibit many common characteristics. Trophoblast cells invade maternal tissues while being tolerated by the maternal immune system.

RBM10 Regulates Embryonic Trophoblast Injury via Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress
Background: Previous studies shown that RNA binding motif proteins (RBM) participate in regulating various physiological processes such as cell autophagy, proliferation, and apoptosis, and are abnormally highly expressed in placental trophoblast cells ...

Kisspeptin regulation of genes involved in cell invasion and angiogenesis in first trimester human trophoblast cells. [PDF]
The precise regulation of extravillous trophoblast invasion of the uterine wall is a key process in successful pregnancies. Kisspeptin (KP) has been shown to inhibit cancer cell metastasis and placental trophoblast cell migration.

Immunobiology of trophoblast cells [PDF]
Trophoblast cells contribute in all the stages of pregnancy starting from implantation of the embryo to parturition through their unique inherent properties of invasion, proliferation, differentiation and endocrine secretions. Hence, successful outcome of pregnancy depends greatly on the coordinated functioning of the trophoblast cells which is brouth ...

Trans-differentiation of trophoblast stem cells: implications in placental biology
Formation of trophendothelial cells is associated with trophoblast differentiation and is regulated by HES1. Trophoblast differentiation–induced TRAIL secretion directs preferential demise of ECs located in their vicinity, aiding trophoblast vasculogenic
